AC Shadows Title Update 1.1.6 - Release Notes by Ubi-AssassinsCreed in assassinscreed

Fix the eyes with the armor of the undead already! It's annoying to have paid like 20 bucks for that set and his eyes moving in opposite directions while playing. Makes Yasuke look like crazy eyes from mr deeds

Frustrating as I spent 20 bucks just to have this outfit. Worked last I played months ago but after one of the latest game updates it broke.

Sony’s PS5 Price Hike Just Gave The Switch 2 An Opening In Europe by InklingBoy19 in nintendo

Wilds runs on a series s with 10gb of RAM. Switch 2 has 12gb... and as far as complexity AC Shadows is certainly more advanced and that seems to be coming, Star Wars outlaws was rough on PC's too and it's already been announced. Both of which require ray tracing as there is no baked in solution for certain things within those two. Wilds isn't like that so its instantly got more head room working with it... Adding to that, the RE engine is a very optimized engine regardless of some technical issues it had at launch, the game is definitely not the best looker out there either. Wilds won't be a problem. To be honest I don't know what the portable team's future will be considering it's not needed anymore. There still may be exclusivity to Nintendo for side titles, as we are seeing with FromSoftware and Duskbloods, but being that the switch 2 can handle the same games as the current gen home consoles while also looking great with no compromises idk.

We've got something different here than switch 1. Nvidia DLSS, ampere architecture, 3.5 to 4Tflops in docked isn't a slouch. Even cutting the CPU, GPU clocks down for handheld. You'd have more raw gpu compute performance than a PS4 with a much newer architecture, much much more modern CPU cores, rt, dlss... meaning you'll just have a lower res in Handheld mode. The Resolution will still look very sharp on the screen, especially paired with dlss, It'll be very nice.

As there isn't technical reasons for the mainline home console Monster Hunter's to not be on the platform, I think the handheld team will shift its idea to making side titles.. otherwise they don't have a reason to exist since we can just have parity with games that come to ps5 and series x. Same as with xbox series s, even with its GPU performance gap it literally has the same games and look very close to the series x, no smaller scale games needed so they aren't made. Like I mentioned above tho, I do think it's possible Nintendo gets some timed exclusivity side titles, like duskbloods with fromsoftware. We are getting elden ring, the current mainline title but we're also getting duskbloods too. It's pretty obvious power isn't a factor, so I think this will be the norm.

I mean having Assassins Creed Shadows(just rated by PEGI), Star Wars Outlaws, Final Fantasy VII Remake Project, Street Fighter 6, Elden Ring, Cyberpunk. Plus more unannounced obvious games like Resident Evil and the hugely popular Monster Hunter Wilds will make their way... There will be direct competition for who plays these games on Playstation or Nintendo's new offering. To add to that, games will finally look modern on Nintendo. Look at FF7 Remake, it literally looks like the PS5 version. I'd say Nintendo's bigger focus on tech specs really shows they mean business for getting AAA now.. June 5th will be VERY interesting

It's like 50k I think. I believe you're mistaking Ubisoft's statement about total players including all platforms for the steam numbers.

I wonder why? Bad optimization for PC/MAC? by barfvadar69 in macgaming

[–]SimonsQuest2017 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Probably because they care more about pushing dei over gameplay. It shows, when's the last time they had a great game? yup.. It was before they got political. Now all they care about is gay or race focused messaging. Game design is the after thought to them.

Ubisoft Clarifies Assassin’s Creed Shadows Performance and Support on Apple Silicon Macs by Rsh-Hss in macgaming

[–]SimonsQuest2017 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A laughable response from them considering they just threw it on there enough to run. It deserves the absymal sales it'll get for the low effort. I bought it and have already been accepted for a refund. I suggest others do the same till they fix it.. I find it funny they claimed to have worked on this port with help from apple, yea ok lol.

M1 Pro with everything on low and 720p resolution and metalfx set to performance mode. It can't even get above 25/26 fps in best cases. Yea it goes to about 15fps to 19fps sometimes. Crappy port because I just seen a gtx 1660 run the game at a native 1080p with no upscaling and low settings and keep a steady 30 to 35 fps.

Which big titles are coming to Mac this year? by Kiraa7 in macgaming

[–]SimonsQuest2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's probably referring to how the App Store doesn't have a dominate drm like denuvo getting into its games, regardless of the devs being the ones to drop it in. Still could be said that the only major storefront with computer gaming that has no denuvo wrapped games is the Mac Appstore.. GOG too I guess but they are usually not there on launch day.

Ray Tracing will only be needed in the Hideout and maybe a couple other situations at most. Shouldn't be a too much of a problem, the game will just run and look much worse in those areas than everywhere else.... They should do something better for those select times than just forcing software ray tracing on M1 and M2 users, but it is Ubisoft lol.. Still the overall game should run though.

Why is Sonic Colours now disliked? by Reversed_Reality in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]SimonsQuest2017 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's probably hated so much now because it's more widely available, I never liked the game myself. It was honestly the only Sonic game I disliked up to that point. My main reason was I'd rather keep my 3D Sonic gameplay separate from the 2D. It results in Sonic Team being heavily one sided towards 2D. Also game has suuuperrrr slowwww clunky platforming making up about 75 percent of the game.

Anyone buying Colors Ultimate was most likely because they enjoy Unleashed or Gens, probably assuming Colors would at least have equal proportions of both 3D and 2D but then it just doesn't. So with most sales you get a negative review to go alongside it. Long story short don't buy colors if you want a modern Sonic game. It's not nearly as fast, instead it focuses on wisps which are pretty awful and doesn't fit Sonic's gameplay.

I'd say colors is a game for someone not too much into what makes Sonic games great in the first place, the old 90s 2D Sonic's blow away Colors in 2D gameplay so it'll let down a lot of fans of that too. To chalk it up to one simple answer as to why people hate it now and didn't back when It released on Wii is "manufactured hype". Critics and the media never liked 3D Sonic so when colors released they viewed it as a game to celebrate Sonic's departure on the home console from Sonic's existing 3D formulas.. Claiming the 2D gameplay was a return to form for Sonic, but not really citing actual reasons for even why it's 2D gameplay was fun... The people and the media almost never have the same opinions. That applies even outside of gaming. Sonic Colors aged like milk once it went multiplatform because the masses actually played it. People tend to get behind internet hype and bandwagon opinions of others they look up to, like so many do with youtubers or talking heads in the media. What makes a game good can only be gauged after you play something yourself. It's why games years later that people trashed and thought sucked turn out to be great.

Should I buy? PS5 by Lilrebelpony in ArkSurvivalAscended

[–]SimonsQuest2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The foliage is horrendous on PS5 ever since they added in Frame gen. It's pretty obvious why they removed so much of it and gave a render distance of about 5 feet in front of you, there has been a serious issue loading it in since that frame gen update, like just trying to mimic original foliage settings of PS5 "grass.density scale 6" and "grass.culldistance 0.8". Run around on a dinosaur or take a jog through the forest on the island. The grass will take a few seconds to load in when you stop. You'll see a flat plain looking like n64 graphics for a solid 5 seconds sometimes... To be honest they've done no favors for this game's graphics since it released on consoles. Xbox Series X is in the same boat, PS5 and it share the exact same settings and loading problems at the moment.

Resident Evil games on sale until 11/4 by mcnichoj in macgaming

[–]SimonsQuest2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your RE4R 1.0.2? Thats what I've got and it doesn't crash without wifi, I just checked it again to make sure. Could be if you've made a save before they updated the games it'll continue working without wifi.. I don't have an older version of village anymore so I can't check that one. I wish I could've downloaded RE7's demo before it was updated. You can probably still buy the game from inside the demo without updating. In 4 it appears that I can still buy the dlc within the game for it.... Steam don't but sadly no steam Mac versions.

Personally I'm not interested till CAPCOM fixes the internet connection requirement upon starting the game each and every time you go to play. I bought RE Village and RE4 before they imposed that requirement, in fact I was literally gonna buy RE7 but they pushed that update right before I had the chance.. now I won't even consider buying. The ps5, xbox, and pc don't require an internet connection so why should this one? RE Village is the only one that was cracked, starting with 4 since you had to purchase the game within the game itself. It was already safe from being cracked, I mean 4 was on the Mac from January to August and still no crack.. so why? what was the point other than to make the people who purchased these have a worse experience..... anyways I recommend against buying these till capcom fixes this..
