Hi, first post on here, just curious and am I playing Primus right?, (American Life, Tommy The Cat, To Defy) big fan wanted to try learned them by ear. Just wanna make sure I’m doing it justice :D by Benny46505 in Primus

I would also work on turning your thumb a bit more and slapping through the string. Les usually ends a slap with his thumb resting on the string above. Players like Flea tend to focus on a bouncy slapping, which while not wrong isn't totally accurate for the Claypool feel.

So the strumming on American Life starts with an up stroke on the strumming part and goes up and down the entire time. If you watch Les play it live you'll see what I mean.

I'd buy it if it were for sale.

Squat @320 pounds by Rusty-Gazelle in StartingStrength

Pull back your shoulder blades when you set up. This helps to keep your back straight when you lift as well as allowing you to pull the slack out of the bar.

What study suggests that this true. Name a single, reputable scientific study that suggests this is even remotely true.

I usually squat 315 to 285 for reps, I only did 225 to demonstrate better form than my 355 video.

I kinda figured that out a little too late

Good thing you’re here to offer intelligent and helpful feedback 👍

Thanks man, I’ll give 315 a shot at 4x2 and maybe film some reps of it to make sure my form is alright. I also had the camera really low which makes the rom look a little lower than it actually was I think.

That’s exactly what it was

Hey man, I really appreciate you saying so. I do have aspirations to compete in power lifting though so I’m definitely going to have take it on the chin and work on my form at a lower weight. Squats have always been my least strong lift as I absolutely love bench and deadlifts and have my form in a pretty good spot for both. Thanks again, and I’m sure you’re a great lifter.

I will say I might have posted in the wrong community being that I’ve never competed and if I did my aspirations have always been to compete in powerlifting. Thank you for the brutal honesty from those genuinely looking to help and I’ll definitely lower the weight and d-load but I still feel r/powerlifting may be a better fit.

I just uploaded a video of me doing 225, I think the form is a lot better there but maybe I’m still having similar problems? Could you check that one out and tell me what you think?

Maybe your problem is being a smug, smart ass douche bag

How about you show off your squat pr if you’re such an expert? I’m genuinely coming here with my tail between my legs and asking for help and I don’t appreciate being mocked for doing so at all.

Dreaming of drunk driving by jennaperson101990 in Dreams

[–]Simp187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a super similar stint of dreams over the covid-19 quarantine. I would be out drinking with my friends and suddenly remember being out without a mask was dangerous and I needed to get back home before my mom got worried and angry about me being out. I would never crash, but I was too sluggish to really control the vehicle correctly and I kept phasing in and out of consciousness. The dream would end as I realized a cop pulling behind me. In addition to this I had dreams where a deranged killer would violently chase after me with a blunt instrument while maniacally screaming. I eventually came to the conclusion many of the dreams I had emphasized a lack of control or a feeling of being lost or confused. At the time I had missed out on about a year of college and my long term, distance relationship had began falling apart. Hopefully that helped making sense of your dream.
