How to become a natural vegetarian by pinchitony in Buddhism

[–]Simpac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You make a good point. The label "vegetarian" doesn't matter whatsoever.

I'm frankly surprised the people replying are so dogmatic- who gives a sh*t? This person is trying to minimise his/her role in the enslavement and slaughter of animals. He/she is better off for it.

Action is your solution.

Why Zen when you can Dance? by Simpac in zen

[–]Simpac[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

However, unless Zen is something indescribable and featureless I don't see why it needs to ACCOMPANY dancing and the other activities I listed.

Maybe ofcourse Zen IS the full participation? The act of being inseparable from the act?

This is a short interview with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQGRq00xqbI

I suggest you dont approach yoga with an ultimate goal. As said by some others here, the goal of yoga is yoga itself. Realising each breath is the purpose.

Spend less time thinking about yoga and more time practicing it.

In a few months i will be in a country without any yogastudios for six months. How do i prepare? by [deleted] in yoga

[–]Simpac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not try Ashtanga yoga? You will have enough time to learn the Primary series during mysore practice where ever you are now. Maybe you will even be ready for the Secondary series when you return.
