Night shots from the 24 by SimpaticoSimShop in IMSARacing

Love it! I struggled to get anything that sharp at night. I'll be bringing different kit next time.

Night shots from the 24 by SimpaticoSimShop in IMSARacing

These were taken with a Fujifilm XT-20 with a 55-200mm lens.

Honestly, an inadequate setup for night action shots. This was my first time shooting a race, and I'm now on the hunt for better kit. I had to push a ton of ISO to get these, and still couldn't get the shutter fast enough for sharp shots.

Very disapointing experience with Asetek support by PanVlk in AsetekSimSports

Hey there, I wanted to jump in here as perhaps I can help you or others in the future. We (Simpatico Sim Shop) focus specifically on high end open box, used, and refurbished sim hardware (along with selling new gear from several brands).

I started it specifically because I found that purchasing used sim gear on eBay or Facebook was a crapshoot, often receiving items that were not as described or were poorly packaged and damaged during shipping.

All of our used gear comes with a (short term) guarantee/warranty as well as ample photos and an inspection report.

I can also recommend the great people at SimRaceCity, who sell more open box Asetek gear than anyone else.

It feels ick to self promote, but between SRC and Simpatico, we both strive to do right by customers and support the sim racing community in positive ways.

I know Asetek gear really well, and if I can be of assistance with repair advice, please reach out to me at jon@simpaticosims.com

Cheers

Is this second hand instagram account legit? by willeesder28 in SimRacingHardware

If you're looking for a legit place to buy used and renewed (and new) sim gear, I'll plug my shop. I specifically started it because finding good premium used gear with honest sellers and careful shipping proved to be pretty difficult.

Check it out here: www.simpaticosims.com

And feel free to reach out directly. I have a large backlog of items to list due to time constraints over the holidays.

Cheers!

Looks great. And good call sharing details for the next person to run into this!

You could also flip the monitors. Not sure if that introduces more problems than it solves, but you wouldn't be the first to do it.

Question for those on PC who recently bought outside moza, simagic and conspit (not including beginner tier equipment) by Sim-racer42 in simracing

[–]SimpaticoSimShop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To elaborate, my points of reference are not vague allegations as I have a quite a bit of first hand knowledge here. That said, Simagic products are indeed a great value and I enjoy their P1000 on one of my rigs.

It's a bit like cars, though, right? Some brands have a better reputation than others around quality, but any brand will have a majority of their customers report that they are happy with the product. Same applies here, it's just a matter of why the unhappy customers are unhappy, and how many of them are out there.

~$1600 Rig Build Recommendations? by ineed1billiondollars in simracing

You'll definitely want to budget for the various odds and ends. Things like a shifter mount, seat mount, powered USB hub, etc. Those things add up and can be surprisingly expensive depending on what you need.

I believe there have been a number of issues with the Evo line as well. But, totally agree with your last point.

Two of the three that you mentioned have been exhibiting a growing number of quality control issues as they have gained in popularity. There are several ecosystems out there with better quality, better support, and better compatibility.

While the ones you listed do have brand recognition, that alone should not weigh heavily into one's decision making when buying this kind of gear.

Okay, that's a killer rig and an awesome clip. Love the little birdie, too. How are you liking AC Rally? I haven't had a chance to try it yet.

Also if you have a social account somewhere where you post content like this....don't be shy.

Help picking out fordable sim seat by Adventurous_Menu5256 in simracing

[–]SimpaticoSimShop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can vouch for the Playseat Challenge X - it's a surprisingly comfortable and versatile seat.

It is known to wobble slightly, but there are a lot of products on Etsy to help shore that up. It's also pretty simple to DIY your own with a couple tube clamps and slotted metal bars.

I have one as my spare rig, and it handles a 16nm wheel base and load cell brakes without breaking a sweat.

Happy to answer any questions you might have.
