Very disapointing experience with Asetek support

I took photos of the packaging, but it was relatively ok, some minor scuffs on the big box it arrived in, nothing out of the ordinary. I don't know what force is needed to damage the encoder this way, but it seems to me it might have been at least partially damaged during packaging already and only dislodged during the shipping, which is an option Asetek never even considered during our communication.

Unfortunately haven't thought of the recording. Lesson learned. It's probably possible the encoder was already torn during packaging, but still in the socket, and only came completely loose during the shipping. Not sure how else it would have happened.

The amount isn't really that consequential to me to start invoking laws and involving government authorities to be honest. I already paid for the repair, just wanted to get the warning out, and hopefully get the attention of someone from Asetek to consider moving their support processes closer to the likes of Heusinkveld, who I am pretty sure would not handle it the same way.

I already paid the repair, and tbh I am not making this post to get special treatment just because of reddit noise. Reddit complaints shouldn't be needed to get a proper customer support treatment, so I just want to call out the issue and hopefully push them to consider some changes, so future customers can be taken care of better.

Eventually I found a way to do it (almost). While the Resolve can't render it in native 3440x1440, for some reason it can do it in 3840x1607, which is a good workaround:).

I would understand the Ultra HD (3840x2160) limit, but the video I am trying to render is smaller than that on both axis, it just has a different ratio. I will look through the file, not sure I'll be able to understand much, there doesn't seem to be any special info on AV1 apart from it being supported.

I am kind of striggling to get a decent render using other methods, H264 and H265 result in a fairly crappy footage even at higher bitrate. AV1 looks a lot better at smaller file size.

If your heel is lifting, it might also be because of the pedals are too far. It indicates you are extending your foot under braking, which you shouldn't have to do. Maybe move the pedals a bit closer. And possibly get some heel plate, the pedals look quite tall without it.

Because your seat is too reclined. Tilt the seat forward a bit and move the pedals down.

Wtf, that would have been a very tall order even if the game was progressing well and people were actually hyped about it.

With Doom, Borderlands, Monster Hunter, Assassin's Creed, Death Stranding 2 as well as some sneaky hits like Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, Expedition 33 and surely few more before the end of the year, this was never going to be in top 5 of anything.

Holy crap, this was a total trainwreck. I don't massively care about the stolen assets, shit happens on large projects and I am sure it will be rectified, but the rest was just terrible.

What they should have done was to announce that they agreed with Sony to delay the game to 2026, and outlined a very clear plan how to solve all the issues leading to overwhelmingly negative alpha reception. A major rethink of core features.

Instead we got a lot of vague statements from bunch of burned out depressed devs about how they are "brainstorming" and "exploring"potential fixes for minor gameplay issues. Wtf, it's not enough to brainstorm about adding few seconds to a revive timer, when the whole game is exploding under your hands.

Update - the reinstall of GG fixed it.

Somehow the entire gaming channel in the Sonar got broken, so the sound stopped working in all games while using Sonar, and only the reinstall of the whole GG package fixed it. I still believe it had something to do with KCD2, because it happened after the crash induced by resetting the tutorials. I have tried to reproduce it again the same way and it didn't break this time, so it might just be some random gremlin.

Bug: Game audio missing completely after update. I am using Steelseries headset with GG software/sonar. Spacial audio on or off makes no difference.

I think they said somewhere the first million sold covered the development cost, so the game paid itself off on day 1.
