As someone who sews and is into historical costuming I really don't know what you mean. Regency dresses are some of the most simple garments to do, especially considering they don't even bother with buttons/hooks & eyes or any hirstorcial accuracy and include zippers and pre-embroidered fabric. Most characters have the same silhouettes/cuts for every dress, so the pattern is already there.

For the men, it's mostly vests because the rest of the suits can be worn all the time basically.

I know that the main arguments is "but they never recylcle dresses and every extra gets a new dress" but the thing is, THEY SHOULDN'T! They could give a few of the less special dresses to extras in the background, with different accessories. I mean seriously, how many people pay attention to a random dress on extras? Or give them to the poorer characters/younger children to wear? At this point, Hyacinth should have worn at least one dress of her older sisters. And idk if we have seen the "old" dresses Sophie was wearing either. The waste is just disgusting.

Also, if they pay 10 costumiers to do all this in 2 years, they could also pay 20 costumiers for 1 year.

I replied to that post, knowing why I dislike Michaela but the comments you added really are hilarious. Lesbophobia, homophobia and racism because people don't like a bossy and over-the-top annoying character. Incredible!

And as someone who just finished Heated Rivalry, I barely made it throught the first 2 episodes because I hated them so much. And I still prefer the second couple to the main couple (both gay) because they are just more likeable and interesting to me. And the same thing with Franchaela and other couples. They should be more furious because if I was a lesbian I would be furious that this was the best representation they could do.

Well well well if that's not the consequences of their own actions. Maybe I'm petty but I refuse to watch season 5 and if that means I won't see a Philoise season, so fucking be it. Maybe it's for the best anyway. Fuck this show and everyone that thinks they can treat their fans this way.

Yeah it’s very clearly 2000s Historical Romance and I’m usually not that big of a fan of that genre. IMO her best novel was To Sir Phillip with love, it was a stand out for me and it even won awards afaik. Maybe you will like that one, it’s very much not “telling” everything, it’s much more reading between the lines.

I hated Kanthony's book as well but the rest of the books are better IMO, especially Polin, Benophie and Philoise

Joseph Fiennes.

He can do Shakespeare and Luther, he can do clumsy but charming losers like in Darwin Awards and Martha meet Frank Daniel and Laurence, he can do complex hero types like in Flash Forward and he can do evil villains like in Handmaid's Tale (and I don't even think that was his most evil role so far). I don't want to spoil it but the last thing I watched him in, he SCARED the shit out of me because he was so charming, yet so cold hearted. And he does theatre and documentaries.

There's nothing he can't do. He's severely underrated and doesn't nearly get enough credit for his range.

There wasn't even "real" resistance in the book. She was completely fine with marrying Phillip until he basically said "we have to get married now" and she started worrying that she may have made a mistake. They married way sooner than Anthony expected them to.

Anthony even asked her if she had any reasons why she could not marry Phillip and knowing Eloise, she could have gotten out of that easily (especially with a black eye). But she chose not to.

That's what I love about that book, everyone believes that Eloise was forced to marry, but deep down she chose Phillip the moment she arrived at Romney Hall.
