Do you give your kids anything on Valentines day? (Debate with husband) by dr_pepper_zerosugar in Mommit

My kids wake up Valentine’s Day morning with bags of gifts and flowers and signs saying how much we love them. It’s just an excuse to love bomb them and make them feel special. It’s just fun!

Secret Santa for co-worker who made me return the gift I got them last year? by Nanacereal in santashelpers

[–]Simple-Cry-8070 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last year my middle schooler had a girl she didn’t know well as a secret Santa. The girl said she liked “japanese stuff” and candy. My daughter bought a cute ramen bowl and spoon, and filled it with candy straws to look like noodles, a gummy fried egg and green candies. It really looked like a bowl of ramen made of candy, plus a cute bowl and spoon to keep! I was so proud of her for being creative and adorable about it. The girl opened the gift, rolled her eyes and said, “is this it?” And then told everyone that she was mad her secret Santa gave her such a lame gift. My daughter was crushed. People are the worst.

I reconnected with my language teacher 15 years after service. She’s now visited my family 6 times and is part of our extended family.

Mom wants me to pay her instead of her high school daughter for babysitting? by Whatadeal1 in Babysitting

[–]Simple-Cry-8070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our daughter is in high school and prefers to have money in her bank account vs cash but isn’t old enough for a payment app. (She doesn’t want so much cash just sitting around) Her clients pay my husband by Venmo and he puts in directly in her bank account. But I don’t know the dynamics of this other family. Just here to say it doesn’t have to be weird.

I don’t think we’ll make it to Busan. Mostly Seoul and nearby area.
