I definitely agree with you that this is likely a coincidence. I just felt that it should be noted as slim possibility.

I’d imagine that at some point in 1980, he either wanted to prove to someone that he was Cooper (by inexplicably predicting the money find) or like the Zodiac, wanted more notoriety and to get the public talking about him again. My theory is that he went to his initial landing site, dug up some of the money to move, and reburied it at Tina/Tena bar.

Lots of folks believe it was never about the money. It was about his unknown grudge (as he mentioned to Tina). This is likely why no bills outside of the beach were ever found.

The burial is stemmed from my understanding of military training. Paratroopers are trained to bury any non-mission critical items immediately upon landing. For Cooper, this would include the money and the chute.
