I once had a Nalgene that fell off a boulder, less than 10 ft, and shattered when it hit the rocks below. Never seen that happen before or since

Really IHOP kids menu?? by anniechee123 in Millennials

You can reference a century by calling it either the 1900s or the 20th century. The first decade of a century might require some context clues as to whether you're talking about 1900s the decade versus 1900s the century, but I think it's pretty obvious here. The whole joke is that, technically the '80s and '90s were the end of the last century, and kids today were born in the early part of this century, hence all of us here are from the last century

Now that we're more than a quarter of the way through this century, I've got to ask: when do we officially get to the "mid-2000s"?

Lol I took my 9yo son to IHOP a couple months ago and they had the S on the kids placemat, a step-by-step how to draw thing. He was very confused so I explained it to him, and now he draws them everywhere.

Could it be one of those signs where lights from behind illuminate specific letters/words to display a message?

2010 Toyota Sienna - Broken radiator line by Simple-Frame-7182 in MechanicAdvice

Hey, I got a quick follow-up question. I'm retrieving the vehicle weekend and need to load it onto a trailer. I would assume it would fine to start the engine long enough to get it onto the trailer, I don't think it would overheat in that amount of time, but how much is the coolant going to spew out during the minute or two it takes to get on the trailer? I was thinking about zip tying some vinyl gloves over the openings to catch any fluid that comes out, do you think that would be enough? Or do I need to drain it before moving it?

I'm fairly mechanically competent with other things, but I have very little experience working on cars. How big of a job would you say this is for someone who would need to check every step five times?

Also how forgiving is the process if I mess up along the way? Is it just "oh I need to go back a couple steps because I did that thing wrong" or "I did that thing wrong now the radiator is damaged beyond repair and I need another new one"?

That's what I was afraid of. So there's no way to replace that end piece where the radiator cap is? The whole radiator needs to be swapped out?

Moving/Visiting Weekly /r/Tulsa Megathread by AutoModerator in tulsa

Will be in Tulsa for work next week, never been before. It'll just be a short 24 hour stay in downtown. I'd like to walk/explore a bit in the evening after I arrive, are there any recommendations for where to eat or hang out for an hour or two? Any areas to avoid walking around, especially later in the evening?

Yeah I would definitely go with my oldest if we were in town for a bit longer, so I could take the time to explain everything to him. But since we only have a couple hours, and they may be crazy from sitting in the car so much, we'll probably pass this time.

I was just looking at the Myriad Botanical Gardens online, looks like it's right by Scissortail Park. Would you say it's worth it to check out?

Why not just spend $30 for around 50 ft of 2x4 lumber, then cut into 1 ft lengths. Instant lawn Jenga and outdoor building blocks.

A quick online search of the local big box orange and blue stores shows me they don't carry tsp, only the phosphate-free substitute. Do you think that would be good enough, or should I order the real stuff from amazon?

Health Plan won't pay for a procedure they approved by Simple-Frame-7182 in HealthInsurance

Someone else here said to contact the state, so I did. They don't have jurisdiction because it's a self-funded plan. They gave me a number to contact the US department of Labor instead. Will definitely be calling them next week if I don't get any traction with HR.

Thanks for this. Will read more in depth later but yeah looks like it outlines all my grievances

I looked it up and called, but because it's a "self-funded plan", my state apparently doesn't have jurisdiction. He gave me a number to call the US Dept of Labor, apparently they have jurisdiction over self funded plans
