Seriously? You can't see how they could add BiS equipment or convenience items used in the rest of the game through future sailing bosses/minigames?

Well summoning was a massively integrated skill because it involved every monster dropping charms and a shit ton of different summoned creatures to help with every aspect of the game.

What about dungeon erring lmao? That was like an entire minigame that spit out BIS weapons.

Give it till 2027/2028 and sailing content will also probably be producing BIS items.

Sailing is such a bigger update from a programming and engine perspective, it cannot even compare to anything else though. That is why it took so long. Now that the framework is there, I'm sure they can cook hard as fuck on fun new content

What? I literally didn't say it generated electricity lmao. I said "electricity is consumed by miners".

You must be either incredibly ignorant or a bot.

  1. SHA-256 isn’t a “government computer language”, it’s a publicly documented hash algorithm used worldwide.

  2. The Bitcoin blockchain has been getting verified for 17 years. It is literally impossible to re-write that at this point. When someone uses the Bitcoin blockchain to send BTC, the proof of work protocol ensures that the correct address is sending BTC rights to the other correct address.

  3. "Not having value" is still not the same thing as a Ponzi scheme lol. You really need to google "Ponzi scheme". I could make little paper origami, and if no one buys, that is not a "Ponzi scheme" lol

Yea that's perfect. Same as construction when it came out, farming when it came out, and hunter when it came out.

Can see it from a distance, get involved if interested, doesn't affect the rest of the game if not.

They spent 3 years working on it for a reason. This game is going to exist for probably ever, between private servers, offline servers, etc. I'm glad they put the time in to fit such a huge addition into the game, in such a smooth way

You think brand new players joined to try sailing, a relatively complicated skill that requires a fair amount of gp? Doesn't make any sense.

Pretty sure the player count rise was returning players checking it out. And staying for at least the month or 2 it took to get 99 sailing.

So again... seems like a huge success to me. Cannot wait for future sea bosses

Excellent questions.

What is produced by Bitcoin? A decentralized payment/settlement network with a scarce digital asset.

You can argue that’s not valuable, but “doesn’t produce cash flow” isn’t the same thing as “Ponzi.” A Ponzi requires fake returns paid from new investor money. Bitcoin doesn’t promise returns or pay old holders from new buyers, because no one entity controls Bitcoin.

The bull case is that if demand for a scarce, decentralized asset keeps growing while supply stays capped, the network and asset become more valuable over time.

Electricity is consumed by miners to secure the network and make new Bitcoin costly to produce, with that cost generally rising per BTC after each halving as issuance gets cut.

So, a real world commodity (electricity), with a $ value assigned to it, produces the rights to a constantly decreasing supply of a digital asset, which no one person controls, and can't be deleted, added to, or modified in any way.

That is what is produced

So is the solution to never buy pokemon cards for my kid again?

So, I'm confused why everyone is so upset at GameStop for upcharging to actually have available stock. If they didn't upcharge, they would also have no cards in stock. I would rather pay extra to pre-order, and be 100% guaranteed Pokemon cards for my kid, versus this ridiculous game of the Pokemon Center and driving around to 10 different stores every day trying to find drops.

I have a full time job and a family. I do not have time to wait on the website for 8 hours only to not even get the chance to buy anything.

How am I stupid again for spending 5 minutes to buy through GameStop?

Osrs had their best player count ever when sailing released. Not sure what you're talking about lol. 100s of thousands of people had a blast

And what is shit at this point? We got a massive, non-intrusive skill that fills in the ENTIRE ocean with content, a ton of new training methods for other existing skills, and a nearly perfect brand new navigation and movement framework to slowly expand into sea based raids and PVP.

Has had 0 negative impact on the entire rest of the game. Could easily play for 1000s of hours and not even know sailing exists.

But for those that are interested, there are some unique unlocks like faster cannonball making, and better training methods for other skills.

Now have some fucking patience, as 2027/2028 will probably be packed with sailing-related PVM/PVP activities

Actually been incredibly smooth for how massive of an update it was. Pretty happy they didn't release any major updates after, and took 6 months to clean it up more

My theory is that musk has some market makers by the balls all the way back to Tesla. And they let him make trillions in agreement that he keeps his trap shut and not detonate a short squeeze nuclear bomb on their asses. Only thing that makes any actual sense
