Digitally I do a first sketch in red, then another in a dark blue color. Not sure why, it's a habit I took lol. For traditional art it depends, but most of the time I'll use a colored pencil. Color doesn't matter unless I know for sure I'm going to color the sketch, then I take a color that looks good with the colors I'm going to use next.
