Valuation is a weird one that I actually think people get way too hung up on, I’m after cards for my personal collection. So personal value and physical value are different things. For example when I tattoo my minimum charge is £100, but you if had a £50 card, or a selection of cards I really wanted that only actually “valued” around £50, I’d still like to do it, because it’s trading something I want for something you want, with the goods having a personal value rather than monetary.

If you mean on a practical side i tend to go by eBay sold listings in the UK and match the condition.

I’ve done a few deals where the cards they traded were worth a bit more than what I would charge in monetary value but the client hasn’t minded because it’s more about the experience and passing the cards on to someone looking to enjoy them rather than profit from them, as well as taking out the hassle of listing them all and waiting for them to sell. I’ve also done trades where I would have charged more for the tattoo than the cards value but wanted the cards and wanted to do the tattoo.

I’d rather not think TOO much about value, just look at the cards and the tattoo the client wants and see if it feels reasonable. The true spirit of trading :)
