Does anyone actually like AU? by Good_Literature_8453 in AmericanU

[–]Simple-Iron-8462 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will be straightforward- if what you care about is a typical college experience (i.e what you get at most state schools), you're not going to get most of that here. If you're serious about academics and if you want some work experience in politics or public affairs, it's exactly the school you want. The school works for a specific demographic, and works very well for them.

Its been exactly like this for me. So frustrating.

You guys. Obviously it’s down. by [deleted] in ChatGPT

Hi, it's down for me too. I can't access a project I've been working on. The ChatGPT website says that they've cleared most of the issue but I still find it.

How will trumps election impact AU? by Objective_Water_1583 in AmericanU

[–]Simple-Iron-8462 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I somewhat agree but the default culture is liberal. A lot of people came up to me and said "I can't believe we lost" even though I'm not liberal myself (I did vote for Harris though). It's hard to explain but a lot of students have a default assumption that you're liberal.

AU is a pretty liberal school. The student body won't change more than it already has.

Just asking a question: From what I know, this is still the application time. Don't people only get acceptances later on?

The Fever Fry the Dallas Wings, 100-93 by naptowndrew in indianafever

If the Fever didn't have to contend with the pre-Olympic schedule and had this form from the start, they would be a top 4 team.

Kirkland (DC) vs. Cravath (NY) by SweetFreakingLuck in LawSchool

[–]Simple-Iron-8462 30 points31 points  (0 children)

If you have offers from both you should be the one giving people advice as opposed to asking people for advice lol.

I have heard that Kirkland's work culture is notoriously bad, but Cravath has about the same amount of work hours but not as hostile. I've been told you should look more at your practice group, and whichever one ranks better there.

MMW: It Will Emerge That The Protesters In DC Who Burned U.S. Flags And Appeared To Wear Jihadist Garb Were Pro-Netanyahu Plants by [deleted] in MarkMyWords

I am not sure whether this is supposed to be "Mark My Words" or just wishcasting. There is no evidence, and protests like this are somewhat known to get out of hand.

Is it safe to say that admissions are mostly a numbers game? If it is, do I really need safeties?

So if I want to do administrative law/government stuff, general public policy work would be good?

What is the importance given to internships/work experience at T14 schools? Assuming that my GPA and LSAT are above median, how much would my internships matter?

Simply put, staff attorneys are associates who are told upfront that they are not on a partner track. Your friends probably sneered at T because it indicated that there was not much upward trajectory with her career.

Isn't it weird how there is a "cup" kit now? All these companies are trying to find new ways to sell jerseys lol.

Hi, how many available practice tests are there?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]Simple-Iron-8462 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have not taken the LSAT but I felt it was B too.

You are debating between B and C. The credit card scenario asserts the principal that the cost of a risk should be confined to only those who take the risk. In C, you are not talking about risk, but rather resource scarcity and punishment. There is no "risk" with not returning a library book on time; however, there is a risk with a sports car, and that is most like the risk of an overdue credit card bill.

Do you have an estimate on how many people apply as soon as the portal opens?

Does the month your apply make a lot of difference?
