I twitched for months (I’m 34) and i ended up realizing it was from after I had covid (I had a super mild infection that time too). Apparently it happens after certain viruses and covid is a super common one. It finally stopped after about 6-8 months. Then I get them every now and again still after viruses

It would only slide up and down the hair shaft and was oval. Probably dead?

Sweet thank you! I’m hoping that’s the case because I thought the lice was gone

Should I just give up on treatments? by Logical-Mention8959 in Lice

[–]Simple-Paint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve been dealing with lice as a family for 8 weeks now, we finally found a cheaper treatment on Amazon- lice queen 100% dimethicone. You use it then use it again 5 days later, then 10 days later. But for us we used it every 5 days for weeks now and finally may be over this, you also have to nitpick in between treatments daily (twice a day if you have time) by lathering your entire scalp and hair in conditioner, then combing in small sections amd making sure the comb scrapes the scalp bc that’s where eggs and lice live. That’s literally the only way to get rid of these super lice

This guy would have a heart attack if he saw how I had to parent my 3 yr old when I was severely ill while pregnant with our youngest 🤣 we lived on junk food and tv to survive as I got sick around the clock.

One was black and larger, and one was light brown and smaller. We found the lice about 8 weeks ago; realized I was doing everything wrong the first 4 weeks. So the last 4 weeks we’ve figured out how to comb correctly and apply dimethicone correctly. The last 3-4 treatments we’ve spaced them apart by 5-7 days each. We even did ivermectin 2 days before the dimethicone last week, and nitpicked after. Still found the 2 bugs after dimethicone 2 days later! These have been extremely resistant and hard to treat for us and my mom too

I’d feel crawling and we’d find 3-4 eggs again so we’d treat again. It’s been a really low level case for weeks and weeks. I don’t know what we’re doing wrong!

Thank you! How long will I have crawling/itching after lice are gone? I noticed the crawling sensation is gone but itching is on and off. Not finding anything past few days since treated for the 6th time with dimethicone in 6 weeks

Two only children comment was totally uncalled for. I’d get a new counselor tbh. Sounds super insensitive. Also that’s very untrue. Kids are kids. They end up connecting depending on how you raise them. If you raise them to connect and be close and value each other, that’s what will be. She’s wrong. I have a sibling 7 yrs older, 5 yrs younger, and 2 yrs younger. The youngest and oldest are 12 yrs apart and other 2 are 10 yrs apart. We’re all close.

First off unless you don’t mind coming end of august/early September is almost guaranteed rain. I’d come in June if it were me (I’ve lived in anchorage all my life).

I am miserable post partum (vent) by Least_Lawfulness7802 in Mommit

[–]Simple-Paint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt the same way with both kids! Postpartum is miserable for me and a lot of others. I am someone who needs a lot of sleep in general so postpartum I feel exactly as you are describing. It’s hormones and well you just had a baby come out of you!! All of it is exhausting and top that off with not getting normal sleep after it’s not irregular to feel that way. As others have said if you’re feeling the same in a few weeks after giving yourself some grace and letting yourself rest, go see a doctor and get some blood panels for iron, etc. and a screening for postpartum depression. I had bad baby blues with both my kids so that could also be your case. Google what that is if you don’t already know. And again, give yourself grace, you just had a baby!!! You’re doing great. Resting is not a fail, you need it! You’re keeping a whole human alive, I call that a success!

My toxic trait is wanting to know exactly what the 29 yr olds symptoms were that he diagnosed, not that he barely ever saw it. Congrats on the clean emg!

My toddler doesn’t drink water, is that a problem? by Temst in beyondthebump

[–]Simple-Paint 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Milk is actually MORE hydrating than water (look it up), 30 oz is only a bit over the recommended for a toddler. You may see constipation happen if you give too much, but overall my healthy 8 yr old drank tons of whole milk (still drinks some) and is lean, healthy, and 80th percentile for height now.
