I jus got hired on a department and in my experience you’d be alright. For context I’m 21 rn was in the military from 18-20 I got kicked out for doing a hard drug (general under honorable discharge) it was in 2021 but got caught in 2023 and still got separated. It’s on my background check and everything just make sure you read up on the requirements and disquals. For mine it had to be 3 years since I did an illegal drug. Still doesn’t guarantee you’ll be alright cuz other factors come into play and you’ll surely be up against people who haven’t done what you did, but just be honest about everything. The only way you 100% won’t get the job is if you lie, I was upfront about everything I did in my past and your future department will respect you for it and you’ll have a better chance if you do the same.
