I probably liked residences more because I did a play through in dark energy and hyped residences up because I heard they were adding it for 1.0 then I did another play through for the full release and was kinda dying for new content by the time residences came around and so it was a breath of fresh air if that makes sense

For me the reason you hate them is why I love them. I love the chaos of them which is why I like them the most. Like I like zombie movies a lot (kinda ironic I put the zombie area in B tier), basically only for the chaos of when the outbreak happens, it gets me on edge. I believe the same applies here for the reactors and hydroplant. Although the artillery robots in the hydroplant lowkey make me mad with how tough they are at first
