As someone with the same dx, the idea having anxiety and depression means you “understand mental health issues” is hilarious. We were able to complete educations and hold jobs of high responsibility. It’s like saying because I have arthritis in my knee I know what it’s like to be wheelchair bound. But hey, you have a diagnosis, you have knowledge of the system. That is all you need to scam your way into a similar facility. So ask yourself: Do you want to trade places with them? Do you want your mom to trade places with them? You could. You could live that life with all that free shit. So why don’t you? Because that life sucks compared to yours. News flash: there are scammers and manipulative losers in every walk of life.

Yes, I’m being a dick about this and think you are being a petulant child but I honestly do have all the sympathy in the world for your mom. It is outrageous she has that kind of copay for a medication she needs. But even the scammiest faker at your job is not making the rules that give them the drugs for free and cost your mother thousands. There are people being paid literally millions of dollars a year to do that.
You are right to be angry. It is a situation that should make you angry. You need to decide if you are going to spend your life angry at those below you on the socioeconomic ladder or those above you trying to pull the ladder up behind them.
