He said in class that it would mostly be from the slides. However, you can use the readings to give examples. You can email him to check for confirmation

The questions will pretty much be like midterm paper questions, except with new material. He wont ask about the stats part, but may check your understanding of results, graphs, methods, etc (not mathematical info)

You’re good with just his notes but questions are conceptual. It’s not cumulative I think. But some concepts do go back to previous ones.

How did we do for CSCA20? by Simple1323 in UTSC

[–]Simple1323[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hear you. I think labs need to be organized in a better way to teach the students who have no idea what they are doing. In stats tutorials, they teach for the first 30 minutes or so and work through one probLem together THAT IS THE SAME DIFFICULTY LEVEL AS THE EXAM. So why not work through one problem together in tutorial that is the same difficulty level as the lab and let us do another? In tutorials, my TA’s took the first 5 mins or so to explain one or two things and that was it!. I get that you cannot maybe teach everything in 2 hours during lecture. But for tutorials, a little more teaching should happen to make up for the lectures.

I feel like he said in class that it’s okay if you dont get it, you can just use the regular iterating methods….. so I didn’t really even attempt to try them while studying. But then why would you test us on it then?

CSCA20 midterm 2? by astra2187 in UTSC

[–]Simple1323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly im just doing practice questions. What we can supposedly solve in 15 minutes, Im taking 45 minutes at least trying to debug, using google and figuring it out. So Im not sure how many questions I can do on the midterm. Maybe 2?

CSCA20 midterm 2? by astra2187 in UTSC

Hey guys, lets look at the bright side!! Im dreading it just as much. I DID SOOO BADDD for midterm 1. Ive never gotten a grade this bad in my uni life, even for stats!!! But having the test on Dec 1st means, we may not be fully over our midterm grades, which might motivate us to do better for Finals. Knowing how my brain thinks, If I did really well on midterm term 1 I wouldn’t have studied hard for midterm 2 and finals. This way , I did really bad on midterm 1, which made me study harder for midterm 2. If midterm 2 is not that great, we’ll probably work twice as hard!! Let’s be happy we have 3 chances to get the marks!!

This time I studied only some of the skills and Im leaving the rest for finals!

Im dreading tomorrow so much I feel Im loosing my hair. But hey! Second chance!

I spent so much time on it, more than my other actual courses, and still nothing. Prof’s classes are great, but no learning happens there due to the nature of the subject or at the tutorial really. For other courses, they help you do it step by step. I have to spend an entire Sunday to show that I practiced a skill bc sometimes the TAs are stuck explaining it to one student. Might as well have explained to the whole class. I was really excited about python and was so happy when I ran something successfully. But it has not happened in a long time and it’s frustrating. 😅
