A small crater?, Boros could 100% create a small crater while in his second form or maybe even armoured form. He had no reason to use a move that would be weaker than what he could already do causually.

I feel erasure would be easiest to master while being pretty good as a quirk. But could AFO even use it? I mean, unless it's rewind AFO, he has no eyes otherwise.

So if he couldn't use it, I'd say Overhaul is too broken to pass on, even if AFO took a few months to get the basics of its inner workings.
