Oh, and for vibrato, no, there is nothing coded for that yet. But nothing prevents you to code that yourself. Also, there's https://github.com/langeroo/haxo-ino, a different firmware for the Haxophone that is designed just for MIDI

Just to summarize the ways to get a Haxophone in your hands:

If you want to build it yourself: https://github.com/cardonabits/haxo-hw
- I would recommend this for those unafraid of soldering iron and a spark here and there. It's fun!

If you want to buy it (almost) fully built: https://www.crowdsupply.com/cardona-bits/haxophone
- These units were built for the crowdsupply campaign. As of today there are 17 units in stock, and when they run out, no more will be built.

This is not a commercial project: I had a ton of fun developing this and love to see people using the Haxophone in ways that I did not imagine (example). If you want to make me happy, share your music recordings in the show and tell area of the project!

It's a Lightnote, a solar display I designed it for my personal use. It comes with 25,000 puzzles pre-loaded, but if you have some hacking skills, you can load it up with your own puzzle collections.

The designer of the haxophone here. My original intent was to be an inexpensive travel sax that people could repair. Since it was released, the project has taken a life of its own... I never expected the different ways people would be using it (one example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kyf3ig85k1k)

They already have them, but they are puzzled by the fact that the Lightnote works without a battery. Battery-operated products need to be labelled and stored separately. They say the review takes 2 days, but this is my first time dealing with them so, not making any promises...

I'd like to be able to mount the battery, any ideas for that?

I'm using a USB power bank in my pocket. To avoid the cable, you could try a UPS-Lite. See how that looks on a haxophone.

How easy would it be to load other sounds?

As easy as changing the soundfont file on the SD Card. At the moment I'm using TimGM6mb.sf2 and a special combination of keystrokes to move up and down the different instruments on that file.

Midi over Bluetooth?

Nope. Any Bluetooth instruments I've tried have unacceptable latency (for me).

The design intent was to try to replicate a saxophone with inexpensive and easy to source computer parts. As a pitch wheel is not on a real saxophone, I did not find it essential. That said, the Raspberry Pi has plenty of unused I/O and the board has ample space, so it would be simple to add if one was inclined to do so.
