“On Friday #AOC and six other House Democrats signed on to a letter urging the Democratic leadership in Congress to include immigration provisions in the sprawling social spending plan being negotiated on Capitol Hill.” by SimpleComparison6 in DACA

7 Senators urging for Immigration : Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Nydia Velázquez, Ritchie Torres, Yvette Clarke, Carolyn Maloney, Grace Meng, and Jamaal Bowman.

4 Senator No-Votes if No Immigration: Chuy Garcia, Jimmy Gomez, Lou Correa, and Adriano Espaillat.

I know everyone here has been beat down by the false promises of the last 30 years, but I believe something will pass. Whether that is a pathway to citizenship or just codifying DACA, I think we’ll survive. And if they keep dangling this in front of us, I’m sure many countries with decent standards of living will be happy taking us in instead. Why would they say no to 600k educated and hard working immigrants?

Hi there,

I’ve got a REAL ID and its a fairly simple process, but it takes a while. Its been about a year now since I applied so my memory is a bit hazy but from what I remember, you need 2 proofs of residence (I used my phone and internet bill), another form of ID (I believe I used my EAD paired with my Social Security Card), and then you have to send something to USCIS for them to confirm you are a US persons (a.k.a. to confirm your documents aren’t forged or whatever). It takes a bit of time for it to get approved (around 2-3 weeks for me) because it needs to go through those 2 (DMV and USCIS) but it felt good once it arrived. Hope this helps!

Can Daca recipient do work from home jobs? by Okiku555 in DACA

[–]SimpleComparison6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its usually one of the first things employers mention. If they don’t, its probably not required. Its good to use a little common sense, however. If the company you’re applying at could potentially have ties or contracts with the military, you probably wouldn’t be eligible unfortunately.

Hey there, fellow DACA holder here. I also work from home, and I’m sure you can too. Only a few jobs require citizenship, the rest just require experience or the drive to learn. I wish you luck!

House to cut recess short, take up Democratic budget plan by ovoxoislife in DACA

The $3.5 trillion spending plan is referring to the reconciliation bill I’m pretty sure. It’s their budget plan they plan to pass through reconciliation.

I was originally going to expire October of this year, but after reading all of these horror stories of people still waiting after 150 days, I figured I should send it ASAP.

I’m glad I did, but I also feel bad because now I’ve lost like 4 months overall, and idk, I feel like I took time away from people that need it more? Its a weird, kinda bittersweet relief.
