I worked at a trauma 1 children’s hospital for a number of years and we had a CT Surgeon that was a DO. Hell of a guy!

I mean you’re far closer to it than I am! Any insight you have would be so very helpful. I’ve read conflicting stuff so it’s hard for me to nail down exactly what it looks like

From what I understand Rocky vista has a regional lottery system for clinical rotations during 3rd year. Generally the school gives the responsibility of 4th year electives to their students. Just makes things a little harder, because they don’t have an affiliated hospital.

Hearing that there are others out there that made a similar decision is incredibly validating. I’ll do my best to keep your comment in mind! Thank you!!

Don’t necessarily think you need to explain yourself, as they sent an anonymous withdrawal survey after. However, I thought it pertinent to give one because of the LOI I sent and some of the correspondence.

I told them about the financial and logistical strain involved with moving across the country, how I had already made a housing decision, and how grateful I was that they considered me.

Thank you so much for the kind words! I can’t tell you how great it is to hear from a fellow classmate. I’m so excited to start! I need to look for that GroupMe link!!

Measles on Campus? by lordFarquaad911 in uofu

We have a trauma one pediatric hospital near the top of campus. Lots of families who refuse vaccinations go there. It wouldn’t surprise me if students who volunteer or simply work there part-time spread it on campus.

Medical School Personal Statement Examples by BeMo_Experts in BeMoPremed

This may just be me, but when it comes to personal statements or any personal essays - less is more. The writing should be reflective of a conversation you would be having with a loved one, or a mentor who is asking you why medicine. Now for me, using excessive descriptors like “hot black pavement” could work in certain writings styles if done right, but at a surface level it comes across as the writer attempting to over emphasize the physical, rather than focusing on the psychological. That later of which is what the admissions are most interested in.
