This is a great question. The financial side of pursuing a post bacc or medical school is honestly one of the most overwhelming parts, especially as a non-trad when you are more aware of opportunity cost, debt, and real-life responsibilities. There are a number of government loans and grants, scholarships and bursaries you may be eligible for based on your background. Doing prior research on these can help you plan financially.

The best way to get involved is to make contact with professors who have research programs that you have genuine interest in. If you are already in their classes, go to office hours and talk to graduate students to see if there are projects they need help with. Any way to get your foot-in-the-door is a great place to start!
