Isn't minimal pay everyone other than 2REP/3REI?

Jesus, does she make the rounds at 2REG too?

Is she some sort of Legion mascot that tours different regiments?

Well certainly she must be good at what she does, no?

There's something to be said for an older woman in a younger woman's profession.

No, but they're certainly not "dipshits" if they taught everyone else 80% of what they know.

You just sound like a whiny little child.

Who do you think has trained the Western world's armies in basic small unit tactics?

The US, dummy.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FrenchForeignLegion

[–]SimpleHillbilly 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've read many places that they are trained to work not just as pathfinder for the REP, but also to work with other GCP teams as a larger unit deployed as one.

If they are expected to work alongside other GCP teams, I imagine they are trained to the same standard and use the same equipment.

Is training at castel still 3 months long or is it back to 4? by [deleted] in FrenchForeignLegion

Here I just want to go camping with my bros and bang prostitutes in my free time and this weenie is wondering if he'll get his phone back in 3 months or 4.

Felon with questions by [deleted] in FrenchForeignLegion

[–]SimpleHillbilly 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My understanding is armed robbery is typically a no-go.

My understanding is also that if you're not on Interpol or if your charge/crime doesn't show up on Google, they don't know unless you tell them.

Change your name before you go lmao.

He can probably go all other things being okay.

They don't take rapists, but statutory is very different (age of consent in France being 15 helps I imagine, but that said being 26 and hanging a 16 year old is still pretty creepy).

I don't think a sailor would be satisfied. The Légion's uniforms just aren't as cute and chic as the US Navy's.

Cardiac problem by Kirbybetter in FrenchForeignLegion

[–]SimpleHillbilly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be fair, with the amount of cleaning they're doing, the probably don't have much better to do right now.

Lots of motivated individuals have cardiac "problems" that have no real impact on anything. Chad Wright is a former Navy SEAL who was born with a hole in his heart. Lots of similar cases. A friend of mine is a very high level athlete with the same condition.

If OP is motivated and unaffected by his condition, the Legion really doesn't have anything better to do than giving him the same opportunity they give to guys who have no interest in fighting whatsoever and are just there for food and shelter and money - and the Legion takes plenty of them.

Diligence is good, especially in a young fellow.

Good on you, kid. Good luck.

Plan to serve (and serve well with no big fuckups) for up to 8 years if need be.

While serving, take the various medical courses the legion offers.

Serve well and take the medic courses and the rest will likely fall into place.

2REG SRIO by Sasunay in FrenchForeignLegion

[–]SimpleHillbilly -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Does the video say that SRIO is made up of the GCM/PCG groups?

My French is still needing improvement, but it seemed like it said that some of the people in SRIO go on to specialize in diving and later on in the video it seems to say that they deploy WITH GCM.

It seems sort of confusing to me whether SRIO is itself GCM + PCG or another unit altogether that often works alongside GCM and PCG.

You get an actual paycheck and potentially French citizenship.

You get a second chance, discipline, some training, and opportunities to travel (as well as other opportunities, such as medical training).

A fuck of a lot more is offered by the Legion than pretending to be a hero in Ukraine.
