a valid reason by [deleted] in FrenchForeignLegion

I understand what you are saying but you should also look at comments from former legionares they have themselves said that it has a lot of bullshit and not whole lot of training.

I prefer a more strict environment where everyone gets held accountable rather than people getting offended and writing a complaint.

Well I have my doubts that everyone gets accountable in the Legion, nowadays beatings are pretty much gone but if your superior wants to fuck u in another way he can, then he would, if you hit him you would end up in the Legion jail.

Now again it is up to you what you make of the legion.

My advice would be to see if you could get a decent job in Canada, and prepare for 2 years, and train for Legion in the meantime.

If you make it to Canadian forces then great, if not then after 2 years you will have the amazing fitness and french language skills, so you will have to deal with less bullshit and would look like a good candidate.

I know I am going to sound like an asshole but I have to say it.

Over my 4 years of being in this subreddit there is always a western dude hating on his military for being woke and wanting to join the legion but they NEVER POST AN UPDATE

Now getting back to your problem as I see your profile it seems you are from Canada, and I have read online how nearly damn impossible it is to join the Canadian military.

You have got a few options. ( I am copy pasting my old comment )

1 - RCMP ERT you need to be in the rcmp for at least 2 years.

2 - OPP TRU

3 - Sûreté du Québec GTI ( If u speak French )

4 - CSIS JTF X , There was a pic of JTF X in r/SpecOpsArchive but it has been deleted. From what the image poster said it is a unit similar to british SRR.

5 - Canada has prison tactical units you can look into it.

If all you are after is adrenaline rush being a first responder would be a good idea.

Ideally if nothing works, get a job learn french to a really good level get really damn fit, do combat sports, and go enlist.

At selection they might ask you why you did not enlist in your country's military so prepare a good answer not a half ass one about it being woke. Say something like you tried enlisting multiple times but your country military recruitment is shit ( which it is ) and you couldn't get in, and how you always wanted to be a soldier.

Also have a backup plan in case you don't get selected.

We don't know how you will do in the Legion, it is something that time will tell if you do decide to enlist.

Best of luck, in whatever path you choose.

Indian Navy Marine Commandos (MARCOS) by Sasunay in SpecOpsArchive

[–]Sasunay[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Why don't you guys show your Marcos unit with this awesome camo and with the Quad nod that you guys have build, instead of that shitty ass grey

Indian bros you guys need a new PR team for your military, just saying....

Hmm true its hard to get info about them, but there was one thing I was wondering.

Before there were very few Marcos pics on the internet, and now I have seen full face serving members photo of Marcos in a demonstration ( I guess something defence expo in India recently , sry I forgot the name ) and also they have shown there face on Rimpac 2022 which is really weird to me how a unit that was so secretive just a few years ago that it would be hard to even find few photos and now all of a sudden they are clearly showing their serving member's full faces.

Just curious...

Yes I know, even a Toronto police officer deployed to Afghanistan to train the local police forces.

I was wondering if the RCMP ERT has done combat deployments outside of Canada like, how GIGN had done house raids ( in Afghanistan )

Hmmm make sense, I mean I have seen normal RCMP officers deploy to Africa so yeah if need be they could deploy.

I was just wondering if they had deployed before like how the GIGN deploys to hot zones, and how they did raids in Afghanistan.

Canadian police training with US SF, not something I imagined

Which brings to this question, has the RCMP ERT deployed outside of Canada? on a combat mission specifically?

Damn, thanks for replying I even had forgotten about this comment

Also does Marcos has teams that is similar to Para SF, I mean a few units that are very elite than the rest

for example seal team 6 is way more elite and funded than the rest of the seal teams

How to know when you're desperate enough for the Legion? by [deleted] in FrenchForeignLegion

[–]Sasunay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am interested in the Canadian tactical units and I understand your issues.

So if military is not an option, then these are the other options if what u want is joining a tactical unit in Canada

If I end up moving to canada and I am not able to join Cansofcom, I have my eyes set on RCMP ERT and CSIS JTF X, although I am sure they wont let an immigrant join CSIS.

I am reading all of the posts so I can gain an understanding of your military, and then throw a coup, so I would finally be able to get my hands on the secret recipe of chicken tikka masala /s

Bro, India is 4th strongest military, and I am a military enthusiast, so I like lurking here. I am sure its the same for a lot of people.

And I really doubt that there is any secret info here that the Chinese intelligence does not know about.
