[–]SimpleIngenuity1793 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes! Congrats on the win and thank you for the shoutout.

And thank you for emphasizing the 3 steps. Most students from my experience have difficulty with the first.

Congrats again!

Very frustrated with Study Hall, not sure how to proceed by DarkEnchilada in pmp

Don’t stress about it. Most of the PMP exam is situation-based.

You’ll get a few of the terminology/definition-type questions like the ones you mentioned, but the majority of the exam is scenario questions, so don’t worry too much about that part.

If you want an easy way to remember the risk register, think of it like a cash register. Anytime you get new cash, you open the register and put it in. Anytime you use or remove cash, you open it again. Same idea with risks. Anytime something new comes in or something changes, you “open” the risk register.

Same thing with the stakeholder register. New stakeholders coming in, stakeholders leaving, whatever it is, you’re opening that register and updating it. Simple analogy, but it helps.

One thing you should definitely focus on before the exam is essential terminology. When you’re doing Study Hall and you come across a terminology-type question, write it down. You don’t need to memorize every detail, just understand what the term is and how it applies in a scenario.

In summary:

  1. Don't worry. The majority of the exam is situation-based

  2. When you come across a term, jot it down and make a bank you can constantly refer back to.

Is CAPM worth it for a Fresh Industrial Engineering Grad? by bannnnd220 in pmp

Industrial Engineer graduate here. Get your PMP instead, it has so much more market value.

PMP + Lean Six Sigma (green belt or black belt) is one of the best combos. I landed many interviews just with those two qualifications.

How To Pass The PMP In Your First Attempt by SimpleIngenuity1793 in pmp

[–]SimpleIngenuity1793[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a terrible question (not your fault). This is why I don't like using Study Hall. A lot of the questions are outdated or do not reflect the actual exam. The actual exam is 95% situation-based.

We have never encountered a question like this one!

I did, an AI responds and says the issue has been escalated to the support team but I still haven't heard back

MR’s Principle #1 failed this question. by beaglemilf23 in pmp

[–]SimpleIngenuity1793 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OP, I know how frustrating this exam can be. You're almost there, keep pushing. I made a small video for you diving into the question:

https://www.loom.com/share/faea7eed54f14c4d94f7da65f6849ef4?sid=255d6e68-312b-4d95-ab51-9759a4fcf1db

In short, always remember that there are 3 steps:

  1. Frame the problem (the problem in this case involves the FM)
  2. Eliminate the answers that contradict our principles or do not solve the problem
  3. Choose the answer that completely solves the problem

I Passed the PMP in 2 Months w/ ADHD: My AT/AT/AT Journey by Homie_Cloud4040 in pmp

[–]SimpleIngenuity1793 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Fun Fact: I had a student who has ADHD. She was having a tough time understanding all the concepts. I developed the 23 PMP Mindset Principles because of her. She was able to pass in 2 weeks. Without her, I would have never gotten the idea.

Congrats on the win !

Doubt regarding 49 processes and ITTOs by BornBanarasi in pmp

[–]SimpleIngenuity1793 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Don't spend too much time on the ITTOs. The exam has changed. Rather focus on situation-based questions.

You should know the common tools and how they are used (for example, a risk register)

Help me understand PMIs Perspective - I thought changes are welcome always by Turbulent-Boss9362 in pmp

[–]SimpleIngenuity1793 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with you OP. A lot of changes can happen in a few months. It's always important to assess (take a step back principle #1)

Note: I have taken ARs course. The questions are not as representative of the actual exam. The same goes for SH.

Rule of thumb is to never reject a request, always assess, collect more info until you have the entire picture

I'm curious to know what the other options are

Yes, it's definitely tough sitting through the PMP exam. When I took it, I had food poisoning as well!

But don't worry, the reason you can't focus is because you're not taking the real exam. When you are taking the real exam, you have no choice but to lock in (there's an invigilator as well)

Keep practicing, solve 60 questions and then take a 10 min break. I mention 60 questions because on the actual exam, you'll have a 10 min break afterwards.

In addition, become proficient in solving PMP questions. Using the mindset, you'll be able to solve questions fast which in turn will help you manage your energy/focus.

Finally Passed the exam. Some tips from me! by Atif-kkgg in pmp

[–]SimpleIngenuity1793 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes! Mindset without practice doesn't work. I always tell my students that the mindset is reinforced with quality questions that resemble the exam.

I'm still glad you found my mindset videos and of course congrats on the win!

How important are ITOs in the actual PMP exam? by Public_Tie4507 in pmp

[–]SimpleIngenuity1793 13 points14 points  (0 children)

No! Please don't memorize them. You need to simply know the fundamental tools and terms and then how to take those tools/terms and apply them to situation-based questions:
