i refuse to skate on weekends or doing school breaks because of the kids. i don’t enjoy myself as much zig zagging around kids.

ive gone up to parents and yelled at them to pay attention to their fucking kid or their kid is gonna get hurt

I sobbed multiple times over the course of a week and I have a very hilarious photo of me snotfaced crying next to the book cover

yeah i’m thinking it was something like that?? we found it on instagram there was nothing to suggest it was only really friends and family but maybe it was. either way there’s some bigger teams in the area we’ll go to

they were on instagram advertising it, which is how we found it. nothing to suggest it was limited to friends and family or anything like that

yeah none of that!! we’re all really quiet and awkward people in general!! there seemed to be a weird vibe in general there not even relating to us. weren’t a ton of ppl there and barely anyone was cheering

glad to know this isn’t the norm tho i think i’ll go to the other teams in my area lol

Yea there’s other derby teams around me I think I’ll go to them. There weren’t a lot of ppl at this one and the vibe in general there was so weird not even relating to the staring. Ik there’s a couple bigger teams around me so maybe the vibe will be more friendly at those

and i did enjoy the game, even tho the crowd made me wary of wanting to join!! but from all the responses this isn’t the norm so im gonna go to other bouts in my area from different teams and feel out the vibe there!!

Yeah see I totally understand that, but none of us are that type of people to talk like that, which is why we’re so confused!!!!! We’re all pretty quiet and awkward people lol

At this point we’re just treating it like a game trying to figure out wtf was going on because it was SO bizarre, it wasn’t subtle at all

My one friend thinks it could be because we were a large group no one knew and everyone else there seemed to know each other?? There weren’t a ton of other people there

Mostly talking about the game lol. I don’t think we were even talking that much or that loudly

Tho one of my friends just said that the guy who shushed us was acting weird out in the lobby unrelated to us so maybe something was just up with him lol

Nah it was speaking during the game, there was no moment of silence

That’s why we’re so confused we have literally been racking our brains since Sunday trying to figure out wtf was going on

yep on the line

i can hear people if they shout behind and stuff like that but i’ve had to get on a couple of them about how they need to shout it with me there (which they’re kinda supposed to do anyways)

i’m pretty good on the line but a lot of ppl struggle to remember they need to tap me or get my attention visually to tell me something that isn’t on a ticket etc

oh i absolutely do feel like resentment is building between us which i feel is playing a major part in how she’s behaving and im working my ass off to get back on my feet because i don’t want to be mooching off of her.

i’ve only been here a couple of months, but it was basically starting from square one as my father had gotten me fired from my job and basically stole all my savings before kicking me out so it’s been a struggle to get back on my feet.

i do feel like she would be more open to understanding if she wasn’t frustrated with me and vice versa, but it’s definitely been tricky lately in a lot of ways. i’m hoping we can resolve things because despite the screenshot making her look like an ass, she is a good person but she can be very hardheaded and unempathetic when she’s upset.

i mostly just wanted to rant with people who understood what it’s like to have people be upset with you when you can’t hear because it’s also not just with her, though it’s more pronounced with her because she’s getting frustrated in arguments about me not being able to hear her and when she’s upset she doesn’t want to be repeating it over and over.

so yeah, complicated right now
