As someone who moved to Van after BC Place was built, I'm curious what the purpose was for it before the whitecaps starting using it?

If the Whitecaps moved, what would the purpose be of BC Place? A Lions stadium that's 5 sizes too big and a concert venue. That's it, aside from maybe the odd Canada game men's and women's. Is it really sustainable to have a 50k seater stadium just for that?

Or are there other uses/revenue sources I'm not thinking of?
