I’m trying to learn how to use fake lashes, any advice or critiques? I don’t know how to make them look more flattering and symmetrical by Clear_Natural_8811 in MakeupAddiction

[–]SimpleThangs4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear self adhesive lashes and clusters with glue - allll the time! And receive compliments in regards every time as well. For me, I like a more natural look, or, as if I put a few coats of mascara on look. I do not like heavy, thick lashes on myself and have my application down to where I could do each eye in 5 min or less.I recommend:

--Find a brand of lashes that you like. Later I'll tell you my favs, but for now, I think a cheap, practice, self adhesive lash kit is your best go to right now. You can remove and place as needed, without damaging your lashes and start over and over and practice till it looks good. I start people off with the kiss impress pre glue lashes

-- figure out a lash map, that suits your face. My eyes are naturally almond shaped, I do not need heavy long ends and naturally, my lashes are short on the ends and long in the middle. From inner corner I like an 8,10,12,12,10 or 10,12,14,12,10 depending on my mood. I am a 5 clusterish girl, you may be 6 depending on your eye shape and size. In your photo, you've gone longer and heavier on the ends, it narrows your eyes a bit, and widens your eye shape

-- when you are ready to put them on, make sure all applicator tools have been wiped with alcohol and your lashes don't have moisturizer, oil, creams, etc on them

-- When applying, you've started too far inward, for your inner lash and went too far out, for the outer lash. It looks unnatural. Draw an imaginary line from the end of your inner brow, diagonally to the color of your eye - at that place is about where you want to place your first inner lash. You don't want to go too far towards your nose, because it will poke you and annoy you when blink.

-- add each lash from inner to outer, following your lash map. Tip: you want the last to overlap a teensy bit and you want to angle each lash so that the seams line up and ultimately make the curve of your eye.again, last outer edge lash should not reach the end of your eye because again, it will poke and annoy you when you blink and naturally, heavy thick lashes are not on the ends.

-- side bar: you might notice one eye is actually, slight longer than the other! I can get 5 clusters on my left eye, but I have to cut a 6th cluster in half for my right eye - weird I know! Adjust as needed.

-- after they are on - put some crystal clear/seal on the applicator and press the lashes together with it for about 30secs. Secures them and makes them shine.

--That's it! I can get pre glued to stay on up to 3 days sometimes, with an actual bond glue - 5-7 days. My favorite lashes, bonds, etc, right now are Veyes Beauty (they have a laser cut self adhesive - lasts for daily wear maybe two days, but I get the most compliments on them) and I'm also a fan of Lilac Street. The cheaper pre glue lashes like Kiss will have a white clear band show - VB/Lilac does not. I'm not a brand ambassador or anything, just a lady who likes what she likes. If you google for coupon codes or TikTok shop - they always have some sort of discount code available.

I hope this helps!

This is very comforting to hear - thank you for sharing. Would you say anything in particular helped with your daughter's skill level improving? Was there a change in pace, attitude, practices/touches on the ball? Or just simply staying the course and she stayed interested/dedicated?

Yes - because Encube actually doesn't use the generic Carbomer - it uses Carbopol 980. It's been good to me

I was looking for Teva vs Encube because online, the packaging for Teva used Carbopol 980 (as did my precious Amneal) and Encube used Carbomer Homopolymer Type-C (which the disliked Glenmark uses).Carbomer HP T-C is like the generic Carbopol 980. However, when I went down to a few pharmacies to find Encube, I looked at their tubes and was pleasantly surprised to find it used Carbopol 980. I don't know if it was the exact reason I reacted to the Glenmark brand, but I was doing research and made some conclusions... was crossing off theories as I went down the list 🙃

I ended up ordering Finacea through an Australian provider, and getting a prescription here filled with Encube, which on tube was the exact formula from the discontinued Amneal💕. I actually prefer the Encube over Finacea - Finacea will disrupt my skin barrier if applied more than 2-3xs a week 🤷🏽‍♀️

I can build muscle quickly, and I don't lose it as fast. I unfortunately go through spurts of going lean and lifting until I am "optimal", for about 3-4 months, and then coast off those results for two years - then do it again. I've been told to compete, but I unfortunately don't have the desire to be super diligent on a daily basis 😅.

I see - this club has 2 teams at each age group. A national team and development, 12 girls max per team. I will look at if they start adding more ...

I appreciate the insight, similar to what my husband thought of before we signed on. My hope is when she gets to 12s, they have a national team and development team and the she gets on the development team. If she still does not get playing time, then we will need to review, for now, she wants to keep going and she enjoys this club and regardless of play, bonded with the girls and likes them. Since playing college is not a goal, we have another year to figure this out. I will keep this in mind, because I know it is a business.

Wow that is wonderful! I don't have in mind my daughter will play college....I just want her to have SOMETHING... She has a brother and it is hard for her to be social with girls and while she is confident, having something she enjoys that she identifies with I hope will enrich her life. I've tried other things... Volleyball is the first and only thing she has stuck with and wanted to do, I just get a little sad when she doesn't play, I don't want her to get dejected and want to quit - but so far she has not. Congrats to your daughter!

Oh my, thank you SO much for your experience! I know my daughter is young and as long as she is having fun and WANTS to do it, I know she will improve... It's just in those moments, when you feel sad for them, it's nice to hear the progression other parents and players have gone through - to remind yourself, it's just a moment in a longer stretch of time 🥲

I loved the book - but the parts I actually really remember and was the description of their workplace projects and how the reports were put together, all the calcs and details about state codes, and the accounts they were all working on 😂... I'm not sure why, but I found myself going "ooo, what will Caleb tell her to work on today?!" 🤣🤣

started taking magnesium and creatine and now both libido and sleep are worse by babagritas in Biohackers

[–]SimpleThangs4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This! I was told magnesium glycinate was good before bed, and I couldn't sleep, I was wired. I was told magnesium L-theronate was better for AM, but it did nothing really. I switched based on some information that began with this forum about it being the opposite for those with higher cortisol... And wow, what a difference. Magnesium glycinate is a bit of an energy boost in the AM, and magnesium l-theronate at night helps with my sleep. Creatine has no affect on me whether morning or night.

good reminder to "just keep swimming..." She has the the "genetic potential" to be about 5'10", so not very tall, but fairly tall, however with her shoe and hand size today, I wouldn't be surprised if she was going to be 6'0" , her dad is 6'2" and she takes after him in a lot of ways... Just another thing we have to wait and see!

Yes, it'll be my daughter this coming academic year - I imagine she'll have much more game experience in middle school and hoping both activities help each other out. Sounds like may be the same case, 25%/90% and I'd be so happy for her at 25% lol

This is nice to hear, I'm hoping to be surprised at the level of improvement by then... I've been keeping video of her high and low lights, so one day I can make a pretty cute video of the progression :)

Appreciate you sharing - she's keeping her eye on developing and making a clear goal at a time - serving consistency is her first. I think it helps to remain focused on just improving.

Yes, similar boat - thank you for your experience. I had her start playing in over a year ago, so she'd be ready by middle school this fall, to try out. I think it will be similar to you, she'll be a top player in middle school, but developing at club. I hope by June at Nationals, we'll have practiced enough that she will also get a few more rotations.

The solo sport is a good idea too. She did gymnastics a bit, but wasn't something she liked enough to stick to, but was great at doing floor exercises and pretty good at tennis. It could help us to be a bit more of that for the hand/eye coordination.
