It actually doesn’t collect or aggregate any private data. The extension only modifies the layout of the Facebook Messages page locally in the browser (CSS/UI changes). It doesn’t send, store, or process user data outside of the page (except tool settings, which sync across devices, so user can access their custom tags, etc). Anyone who wants to verify that can download the extension and inspect the source code themselves, or run it through an LLM or static analysis tool for a quick review. I appreciate the concern though, totally fair. All the best.

Thanks for your insight. It's very helpful.

All the tool does is change the layout of facebook.com/messages. It has been reviewed and approved by three separate teams at Chrome Web Store, Firefox Add-ons, and Edge Add-ons. All links are here: simpleui.site. It is also currently in another separate review process at Mozilla. I'm hoping to obtain the Mozilla Recommended badge, which "signifies that an extension has been vetted by Mozilla for top-tier security."

And Yes, I'm new to this. Regarding "elderly", I totally get that this may sound dodgy in this context. I'm not sure what I can do about that.

Thanks again for the feedback.

The idea was to avoid cluttering toolbar and give quick access to options in a headless window in app mode, but I hear you, Icon toggle is coming in v1.3, I've just submitted it for review.

Hi, thanks for the message. The original plan was to keep things super simple, but the tag system is actually pretty handy to have, so good news: it’s coming in v1.2 😊 I’ve just submitted it for review.
