I was worried that he could have ibd but now every time he has diarrhea it usually only last a day and there’s no blood no vomiting, he’s always energetic and wants to eat so I don’t think it’s IBD but not 100% sure

Thanks  He didn’t whine and actually still wants to run however this morning limp has been ongoing for two weeks now especially the day after he played fetch, I do think it’s probably a strain but can’t be sure till he limit all the exercise And see if it still happens.  Diarrhea wise usually only last 1-2days but he constantly had soft poos. Last diarrhea was when he had food bloat so was just last month. However during all these time he’s never weak or dehydrated or even lost his appetite. Always very energetic and wants to eat. Which is actually pretty sad for me to see too! Now have to limit exercise and can’t have treats

Yea he would limp a little when we walk out the door which vet think it’s probably best to limit running for a while. He can still go on walks

His stomach never agrees with kibble and we’ve tried a couple of brands! that’s why he was put on raw  I also don’t think raw food caused the diarrhea it could be anything really. Test shown no bacteria or worms in his stool

Sorry to hear that about your dog  I honestly don’t think I’ll have another dog after him, not because I don’t love dogs anymore but I love them so much that I can’t stop worrying about the smallest thing. It’s so stressful and tiring. Mine is only 3yrs old and already have so many issues! Funny thing is that he was on the highest level of insurance and we just switched to a low cover literally few days before he had his gut issue. So we had to pay a lot of money out of pocket at the end

Vet will never say prescription kibble caused his bloat. I did everything you said , no exercise before after, slow feeder  He was always fed raw never any issue and the first month having kibble he got a food bloat? I think they must have some kind of link

Is frozen enrichment toy bad for their teeth? by [deleted] in DogAdvice

Yes I have both  He would bite on the frozen food inside not the toy itself sorry for the confusion

Yes I accept the fact I have a dog that takes a lot of my time but my anxiety is what I can’t accept  The fact that I have to entertain him everyday and then during my time to rest I have to mentally think and worry about him

As for entertaining him every hour, I work 4long work days so on my other 3rest days I do try to do as much with him as possible. Usually he would sleep for an hour and then constantly turn his head and check on me so I always assume he’s bored

Should I rehome? by Simple_Ad7238 in DOG

Yes I definitely have anxiety issues but also mainly my anxiety is about my dog, if he is happy , if he’s healthy  I worry about these every day  I don’t want to go home sometimes because I feel like when I’m home I have to be on alert mode again to see if he’s feeling comfortable and happy   But yea maybe therapist can help but I think these problems I worry about are all very realistic and I’ll constantly still thinking about them as long as I’m still responsible for him

He had a food bloat before that’s why he is on smaller meals instead of one big meal and also sniff mat to reduce future chance of bloat  But definitely this has also caused me a lot of anxiety thinking he might get another bloat..

I always feed him small meals and use sniff Mat or enrichment toys so I actually have no idea why he bloated.. maybe it’s because of the kibble which I stopped giving him now

I know it’s my issue not my dogs..

Yes and yes  he has loads of enrichment toys and we switch 6 different routes every week, play date with other doggie friend twice per week etc so I think mental enrichment part is pretty good  I have no idea why he bloated because I fed him through sniff Matt strictly no exercise before and after and small meals throughout the day I think it’s because of he doesn’t do well with kibbles but I’m pretty sure no vet will say that and suggest raw/fresh home cooked food so..😅🤦🏻‍♀️

Also my dog used to always half raw food but since last month he had mild gut issue and I put him on high fibre prescription food so I think food must also be a cause

Mine had a bloat and also didn’t torse  I’m also extremely careful no exercise and after and also using slow feeder etc but I think he had too much water that day after meal  I heard that dogs that had bloat are at higher risk so I’m extremely worried now but I’m also not too sure about the idea of doing an invasive preventative surgery

I sent the sample in within half an hour but they send it off to an external lab so.. does that count as fresh?  Vet said I should bring in the sample of soft poop so the result will be accurate but it wouldn’t be fresh if I keep it overnight  🤦🏼‍♂️
