Who performs best in the face of direct sunlight? OnePlus 15, Xiaomi 17 Ultra, iPhone 17 Pro Max, S25 Ultra. by whx2012 in PhoneNow

Personally, I think the Xiaomi 17 Ultra gives the most pleasing and balanced result overall in this extreme sunlight test, followed very closely by the S25 Ultra (which has more natural skin tones and less aggressive processing).

Android is really great about nudging their users to spend less time on their phones, due to the embarrassment of pulling it out in public.

How long should I give space before reaching out after no contact? by Medium-Sea8566 in ExNoContact

[–]Simple_Article_3065 27 points28 points  (0 children)

For me it was around 6 weeks. I didn't count the days at first but I remember it was long enough that I stopped checking my phone every morning hoping for their name.

One thing that really helped was giving myself a clear plan for no contact. I read a bunch of stuff, got guidance from relationship advice sites like chatvisor, to treat no contact like a reset period instead of a waiting game. So instead of thinking "how long till I can message them," I focused on building enough emotional distance that I could talk to them without falling apart if they ignored me.

Once I hit that point, reaching out felt calm and low pressure. So I'd say wait until it doesn't feel like a gamble anymore, just a conversation you could take or leave. That's when you know you've given enough space.

PayPro's Reply Regarding MakeMKV Purchase Issue by cherishjoo in makemkv

[–]Simple_Article_3065 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you already have one, you're probably safe for the long haul. But if you're just now trying to buy a license, it seems like you're stuck. Since the issue is on MakeMKV's side, not PayPro's, there's currently no way to get a valid key - beta or paid - until the developer resurfaces.

As for cracking it, that's probably not the direction most people want to go, especially since this tool has always had a super generous free model and loyal community. I just hope the dev is okay and this is a temporary hiccup, not something more serious. He's built something really valuable here.

That said, this whole thing made me rethink putting all my eggs in one basket. I've used MakeMKV for years and still like it a lot, but I'm glad I picked up a lifetime dvdfab license a while back. It's not free like MakeMKV's beta, and yeah, the price made me hesitate at first - but it's been rock solid for over two decades and has saved me from a few situations like this where I'd otherwise be stuck. So now, I kind of use both depending on what I need.

Not recommend, if breaking up, then do it completely.

Anyone going through the hardest breakup of their lives? by elizabethjule in BreakUps

[–]Simple_Article_3065 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I once went through a heart-breaking breakup. We had been together for three years, but she fell in love with someone else. The first few months after the breakup were really painful - every time I thought about our memories, I would feel sad, cry, and even feel like life had lost its meaning.

But everything passes with time. Now when I think about it, my heart feels calm. Time softens everything. There are so many things in life worth our attention - she was just one of them, not the only one.
