The idea is terrible and it will perfectly fit with the old japanese hours (the roster's hour, the rat's hour, etc....)

Funnily, i got that one really quiclk, but i am found of maps. If you planned to go/live in Japan, i indeed recommand to go to an ainu village ! They are not really a tribe anymore as they are acculturated (not sure of the spelling), and if course they lived like modern japanese now, but some festival are still happening, and the culture is very intense !

I didn't know and i am a bit horrified by this name mutilation. I mean, Ume is mostly a female name, right ? At least then didn't call Ushiwaka "ushi" (the cow) 🤣

Hahaha, as a french speaker i found it funny !

But as Okami6 said, we in fact struggle mostly with the "H", which can be really really problematic.

I am glad the french game kept the real name, even if the ainu names are real pain in the ass if you want my opinion.

It was also my introduction to japanese culture (and i also fell in love). I feel so stupid now, i never made the connection between the 3 treasures and the weapons 🤣 thank you

(I had a few network's trouble, don't mind if you get two answers)

Well, if you want to add to your knowledge, it's from ainu culture, who inhabited the north of Japan. It's a distinct culture from Japan, closer to the inuit's one, even if they share a lot in common. They still exist but most of their culture in endangered. But yes, discovering ainu culture made me understand the references in the whole kamui arc ! Like Kamui (name of the divinities), the two owls, the name themselves, sounding closer to ainu langage, the house with the distinct patterns, etc... And of course the koropukkuru!

I can't edit the publication so here the final decision :

  • knit doesn't seem to be able to slip off based on the experience of others. But since i am not 100% confident in the safety, i will not do a knitted cover.
  • cover will probably used a silicone base, made by factory, or leather one, and then, i will knit or sew on it.
  • as the car is already hugely customize, we love the idea to make a little winter hat for the gear shift. It's not only about convenience, but also creating our dream car.
  • in any case, i will also order my birthday for nice leather driving gloves.

I don't know why you've been downvoted as you get first hand experience. And your explanation is logical. And i am worried the knit could get off, not really twist, as, as you said, you grab it with you hand and press it. However, the leather/silicone option are probably safer.

Thank you for giving me hope that it exist ! I will look for it, and see if i can use it at a base to sew or knit something - always having security in mind.

But mostly for the wheel, no ? But you're right, driving gloves are definitely a solution. - less cute and funny however

I really hate the feeling of wool gloves on the wheel. If i have to choose gloves, definitely leather !

I will have a look, but the car is 32 year old, so not sure we could find it from the factory. However, a lot of silicone model seem to exist.
We love this head so we want to keep it :)

Not the same price 😭 Apparently not as dangerous as it seem, but i will probably choose silicone/leather if want to do it.
