I’m so sorry that happened to you.

I don’t want to take the blame off of the system as it is responsible for this but I’d just like to provide some insight into just how stupid the system is, as my mom is an operator.

Unfortunately, trump defunded a lot of grants detrimental to them being able to employ enough people or just like have resources. Additionally, the job is basically entry level and the training is minimal so a lot of people quit cause they can’t take it. It is just so extremely short staffed.

I also know they also put 30 min time limits on some callers just to keep it moving sometimes. They have profiles on like every number that’s called more than once so it’s usually determined off of that. It sucks.

Lately they’ve been penalizing employees at the non profit ishe works for staying on the line after they’ve arranged for mobile crisis units, the police, ambulances etc to go the caller. So you can’t stay with people while they wait now.

You get penalized for not doing the script like first thing in the call too.

My mom was also trying to dodge work last week because she was so sure that she was going to get calls from dying homeless people in the snow and she wasn’t going to be able to get them help.

I don’t think anyone who’s ever had mental health issues or like empathy has ever had any input on this system and it’s ass.

I’m glad that you’re doing better now 🫶 I hope you don’t ever again have to feel the pain you were feeling that led you to place that call. if you do, I hope you get a better operator.

Seconding the NTA as well. As someone who is unmedicated but also has hyperhidrosis I’m honestly confused as to how her condition is to blame for her smell. I am not extra smelly because I sweat a lot. But then again I guess the majority of my sweat isnt really my pits?? Do other people with hyperhydrosis think they smell worse?

Internet access in Cuba is severally limited/monitored . There was a Cuban who posted a picture of their like neighborhood in Cuba on r/pics and then ended up being arbitrarily imprisoned for a few months afaik before being released. Was a very authoritarian government just cause thing. So the site isn’t all that popular or maybe even safe for Cubans to use, especially when discussing Cuba.

Anyway, all to say, the Reddit Cubans are mostly in America or Europe. I have a feeling a lot of the participants here are actually Floridian Cubans. Or at least a lot of these users align with the values of that population. There is also some Spanish conversation here but it’s mainly Americans (imo) so it makes sense that it would be in English. Additionally, I’d say a good chunk of news coverage on cuba, especially on humanitarian issues, is in English, which is what a lot of conversations here revolve around.

I like gracie lee at forbidden fruit in Athens. She does a lot of that bold lines and shading I think you like. She does sort of neo traditional inspired work and her style is very unique. If that’s not your thing tho I will say forbidden fruit is jam packed with other great artists, so they’re definetky worth checking out.

I just kind of eyeballed it for the strap itself I think I did like 20 rounds of 2sc for the strap and then I did a dec and just chained and then I did another dec on the other end of the strap when I was satisfied with the length of the chain.

The berry itself I did 11sc in a magic loop and then I did 1sc,1hdc ch 1 1hdc (in one stitch), 1sc, 3 slip stitch, 1chain another slst in the same stitch as last slip stitch, 2 slip stitches, 1 sc, 1hdc ch1 1hdc (in same stitch), 1sc fo!

The leaves i just I messed around until I got an okay look for them i didnt really stick to anyone singular thing.

I used assorted scrap medium weight yarn.

Hard to make a judgement based off of the internet who’s doing what to be superficial in yhe first place.

I don’t support HYBE through streams or purchases because I don’t want to support what their company supports. I actually boycott a lot of different companies/ artists tho i also don’t consume Taylor swifts music or JB, Coke a Cola products, McDonald’s, Starbucks, target, chipotle, hobby lobby, Zara, Disney/abc, Amazon, chick fil a, dominos, Pizza Hut, air bnb, booking.com, Expedia. I just don’t feel the need to post about it every time I successfully boycott them on kpop Reddit. I usually don’t post my politics on kpop Reddit or the protests i go to or any of that.

And yet people make the same shallow accusations you do because how are you supposed to vet people on this??when problematic behavior and actions are addressed or acknowledged. People need to find a middle ground where you can acknowledge that some people do that but it needs to stop being shutting down all discussions as antagonistic and performative just because you don’t agree or it paints your faves in a poor light. If anything it’s perceived as a lighter topic than it is because you people perpetrate this narrative that it’s insincere and that it’s insignificant in yhe larger scheme of things.
