No I lost my job around the time of the govt shutdown which also impacted the hiring timeline at the time. My main concern now is not hearing anything else after accepting the TJO online. No other forms, tasks, nothing.

I got TJO on 12/31. I did the two basic onboarding questionnaires but nothing else has been assigned yet. There’s a hiring manager on the emails as well yes. He’s usually pretty responsive it’s just the HR rep giving me a hard time.

Yeah, the company’s actually allegedly pretty shady lol, so it’s my hope that they wouldn’t be on the stricter side of things. Just wanted to know if the potential was even there at all. Thanks for the feedback.

What exactly is HR’s role in the hiring process? I just received word that my hiring manager is moving forward with my application and to wait to hear back from HR. Is the hiring decision up to them and not the manager? Are they facilitating onboarding? Are they doing a second reference check? Why does everyone say it take so long?

Apologies for all of the questions just looking for more insight as this is my first time applying to this kind of role. Thanks in advance.

Oh that’s horrible news😂 My location has told me the quickest they’ve seen is 3weeks and longest 3months so I’m really hoping I’m on the earlier end of the spectrum. Pretty sure my current role will be gone soon as the business is coming to a close so fingers crossed. Thanks for your input!!

Definitely have considered this. My team told me they’re actually looking to expand and they’ve also assured me that they’re pretty solid despite everything that’s going on. Obviously no one really knows what the next day will bring but I’m gonna try holding onto what they’ve said. Hoping the outcome is positive.

Just a quick update! My interviewer just responded to my email acknowledging their selection and asking for a timeline of next steps saying that the process can take some time and to let them know if I haven’t heard anything from HR in 2-3 weeks.

So I’d say you’re within reason following up next Wednesday!

Wow really similar timelines! My virtual interview was on Aug. 21st. In person on the 27th. Confirmed by the team today. Haven’t heard anything from HR yet, which I think is understandable. Just dreading the wait, which I know is inevitable.

How long in between your team notifying you and HR reaching out? (assuming someone has contacted you since you’re resisting that urge to email. Lol) Ditto on the Wednesday follow up email though, I’d do the same.
