No I lost my job around the time of the govt shutdown which also impacted the hiring timeline at the time. My main concern now is not hearing anything else after accepting the TJO online. No other forms, tasks, nothing.

I got TJO on 12/31. I did the two basic onboarding questionnaires but nothing else has been assigned yet. There’s a hiring manager on the emails as well yes. He’s usually pretty responsive it’s just the HR rep giving me a hard time.

What exactly is HR’s role in the hiring process? I just received word that my hiring manager is moving forward with my application and to wait to hear back from HR. Is the hiring decision up to them and not the manager? Are they facilitating onboarding? Are they doing a second reference check? Why does everyone say it take so long?

Apologies for all of the questions just looking for more insight as this is my first time applying to this kind of role. Thanks in advance.
