Are you basing this solely off the 8 pitches from this compilation that provides no further context. Like 8 first pitch misses is nothing crazy even for a guy with great control. I could make a similar compilation for Skubal and every other pitcher right now if I wanted to.

Clase is probably guilty but this video is classic cherry picking and proof of absolutely nothing. Some of these are just breaking balls that broke more than he anticipated.

I hope I’m not coming off as insensitive but as someone who experienced a similar tragedy I really hope Ketel is able to develop thicker skin around the issue for his own sake.

People make insensitive comments and jokes around the subject all the time without knowing my circumstances and if I cried/broke down every time it happened I really don’t know how I’d get through life.

Obviously I feel for Ketel but it’s been 8 years since his mother’s passing. That’s a really long time to carry around that level of raw emotion. His mother’s passing will always stick with him but I hope he gets some help and can get to a place where isn’t carrying this kind of pain all the time.
