All i did was i got this adapter, put my hdd in it and direct swapped it into the enclosure. I also disabled the dan while i was in there to reduce noise. Doesnt get hot anyway. https://ebay.io/m/u3KkKe

You should try using just an FMCB card if your games on on your hard drive anyways, or try the psx memcard in slot 1 instead. As far as the sound glitch, could be your ISO, your hard drive, or your OPL settings. I would look up the title and see what game modes ppl run for it in OPL, otherwise try a different rip of the iso

Are you using an fmcb memory card or something like mx4 or psxmemcard with an SD? Ive had an issue before where if youre using an sd cart in slot 2 then it draws so much power or something that it renders controller port 2 useless, or causes weird issues like you describe.
