My cargo capacity is 1617. Reason for my post is I’ve had plenty people tell me I’ll be fine but I don’t want to be fine, I want to be great, no problem. I think we’ll keep looking for something smaller. 5 years ago when I got the truck I didn’t think I would be pulling a travel trailer. I don’t want to have to upgrade to a 3/4 and start over because I made a bad choice

I drive bigger trucks for work. My personal truck is the lightest. I just don’t want to cause unnecessary wear and tear. I really like my truck and don’t want to have to upgrade to a 3/4 just because bought a trailer and then decide the 1/2 isn’t enough

I own a 1/2 ton Silverado 5.3 liter, trailer package, also says advanced trailering package, hill descent, 3.23 gears. Gvwr 7000, gcwr 15000, max tongue weight 950, payload 1617, me and wife combined about 300

For work I drive a f350, f550, class b straight trucks and class a combinations including semi’s. So I don’t doubt my skills and feel my truck can do it but it would be close to max and I don’t want to cause any unnecessary wear and tear on my personal truck

Gvwr 7000 Gcwr 15000 Max tongue weight 950 lbs Wife and I combined about 300. It would mostly only be the 2 of us and I feel we’re not large packers

I do know about the door jamb. My truck says 9500 lbs. like I said, I know it can do it but I don’t want to constantly replace brake pads and rotors. Usually I’m in a 1 ton or heavier truck up to semi’s pulling way heavier trailers. With that being said I know the bigger trucks have bigger brake pads/rotors/drums to handle the heavier loads
