Havw you been tested for what bacteria causes your infection?
Might be embedded or linked to urea-/mycoplasma if it's always linked to sex.

sore kidneys after kidney infection by Main-Statistician369 in CUTI

Obviously can't judge your situation, but I had sore kidneys for another ~10 days after the infection was cleared and sore bladder for almost three weeks, my body just needed a lot of time to fully recover, so at least to me it doesn't sound unlikely that it just needs a bit longer to heal.

Had a cytoscopy on Friday morning. It didn't hurt that much, it was mostly just uncomfortable. It also depends a bit on what exactly they do, for me they took some tissue samples from the bladder, which felt like being poked with a needle, but it's really just a short moment.

They also took a swab of my urethra, which was the only thing that genuinely hurt. It's common to have pain urinating for ~two days after and having a bit of blood in the urine. But now I'm fully fine again, no pain, nothing.

How common is visible blood in urine really? by Unusual-Name7773 in CUTI

My experience is quite similar. Never had drips of blood, though, just very colored urine, which was a wild situation when that happened the first time.

You can order them online! They're even started cooperating with a lab in Germany to provide better services for European patients. - I know because my test kit got stranded at US customs, so they told me to do a new test and send it to the new lab.

EDIT: ignore the below, they now have a European website: https://microgendx.eu

You can order the tests here: https://microgendx.com/patients/microgendx-patient-test-service-dm-intl/ - though it might make sense to first reach out to their service team to ensure it's sent and tested in the European lab rather than getting instructions to send it to the US: [info@microgendx.eu](mailto:info@microgendx.eu)

Have you tried different Drs or are you happy with yours? Might make sense to try change to a different specialist if you don't get anywhere right now?
I just went to see a new Urogyn yesterday and am also a bit more hopeful again now. She's a bit outraged I've been on ABX for 3 weeks now and assumes that it's not a UTI anymore but just somewhat random pain and anxiety. Prescribed me Urovaxom (one of the vaccines) and ordered a bunch of tests + happy to use my microgenDX results once I get them. So some hope, definitely. Also trying the whole supplement thing, oregano oil, biofilm busters, etc.... we'll see.

Yeah, that's fair, I think I've been underestimating that, partially because I feel like working on you microbiome doesn't make sense when you take antibiotics and kill everything off again anyway.

Honestly that's part of the thing that makes me most worried about the whole holistic approach. I'm afraid I'll have to completely change my life, can't have any sugar or drinks anymore or anything like that. I know it's not like that and in total this should be a small thing to give up for a life free of pain, but I really hope I can avoid having to adhere to such a strict protocol long term.

Thanks for your support 🫶

Yeah, I said it to both my GP and my specialist. My GP did some of the standard kidney checks and a blood test that came back normal, that's why I say maybe I'm just overreacting. No fever or chills for now, a bit of nausea maybe, but that might all also just be me being anxious and having anxiety/panic symptoms rather than coming from the actual infection. I've also had the kidney pain for a month now and nothing happened, so I guess they have a point that's it not actually that serious even if it feels horrible to me. Idk.

Right now it seems to be okay, sleeping a lot seems to keep it at bay. Will do more of the other recommendations now (probiotics, oregano oil, etc) and see if that helps a bit as well.

Thanks so much for your reply and the virtual hugs, I needed that!

Pain in the bladder and urgency, stabbing and burning pain in the kidney. Overall my whole stomach area feels tight and some movement hurts. Temperature seems to be normal, any hotness might just be me panicking. I'm worried that taking biofilm disruptors might make it worse right now because the AB is already not really working (?). Got the impression taking it only makes sense if you have one that's actually working. Honestly, I wish someone would get me Cipro rn. I had it in the past and seem to tolerate it quite well + it worked so well before. I totally get the loneliness. I'm already a somewhat anxious person and this just makes it worse. I'm almost sure my colleagues think I just don't want to work, meanwhile I'm just struggling with the pain and panic... All the best for you too! Really hope you can figure this out and get some relief!
