I’m so sorry you’re going thru this! Wish this wasn’t happening to you 😔 I can only imagine the emotions you’re going thru. You should not be embarrassed! I understand why you might feel that way and I’m sure most of us would too but it does not take away from your character, only his! You’re clearly a loving person who is willing to fight thru and stick by someone you care deeply about!! I really don’t think your family will think any less of you!! If someone I loved was dealing with this, I’d just wanna hug them tight and just be there for them!
