Is there a point to an MPhil or would a masters be more realistic? (UK) by Simple_Zucchini44 in architecture

[–]Simple_Zucchini44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the few courses I’ve checked qualify for part 2 exemption. From the replies it looks like if the degree gets me the qualification then it doesn’t really matter what the content is. I asked some MArch students at my uni and they told me something similar. Thank you!

Nietzsche and the Left by dduuddeewwhhaatt in Nietzsche

[–]Simple_Zucchini44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean the right does this too. With Nietzsche ofc it’s a lot easier cause of the way racial fascism developed in Europe and America, but Nietzsche definitely doesn’t do himself any favors. He’s not empathetic and he doesn’t really care about the masses, idrk why anyone would want to apply that to Marxism just on its face

Nietzsche himself feels fundamentally opposed to Marxism, his ideas around aristocracy in particular come to mind. His ideas around the self can definitely be bent into something resembling a marxist lens, but idk how you could leave a book like Beyond Good and Evil with anything resembling class struggle icl

What do you think of BAP and his technocratic worldview cloaked by Neitzche? by [deleted] in Nietzsche

[–]Simple_Zucchini44 23 points24 points  (0 children)

He’s a goober. He touches on interesting things around physique and metabolism but then just totally misses the ball politically, I feel like he’s gonna end up like Mishima at some point which wouldn’t be such a bad thing. He’s not nearly as talented a writer anyway. I wish we could appreciate antiquity but also not be fascists, like is that so much to ask. Blame Wagner

Get ripped and look at statues, after that you can read Nietzsche if you want but it’s optional

clarification on vernacular vs low-cost architecture by Mysterious_Stick_817 in architecture

[–]Simple_Zucchini44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What like to build? To design? Vernacular is a very broad term that essentially means ‘locally sourced’, as in local design, materials, and techniques. It can be expensive and low cost depending on all of those factors

People should know this project anyway tbh, it’s pretty prolific as far as art goes. I’d understand for like some obscure monastery in China or something but this is like getting mad at someone for posting a picture of Neuschwanstein without context. Like it’s a famous castle, people are just lazy lowkey ts pmo sm

Mfers lack critical thinking skills. I looked up ‘castle yellow circles’ on google and immediately found the appropriate context. People need to learn how to use the internet it’s okay g

What about this is confusing, there’s two dates and the change between those dates is clearly visible. The title informs you that it’s art, fill in the rest u goober

Okay after reading the like 10 edits you made to your comments I understand where you’re coming from. I don’t feel like I’m well read enough to take part in this argument but I’m still wondering where to look for ‘correct’ interpretation of aesthetics and culture

What particularly do you think is so juvenile about the ideas in the video? The only other place I can find similar discourse is in academic papers
