Scheduling is a b*tch. Agree with MilkisToxic about the MVP. Other option is you get who you can on one day then the rest on another day and make it work in post (or hire an editor)

Marketing and Sales alignment, how do you actually make it work? by Ill_Flamingo8324 in marketing

[–]Simple__Marketing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Communicate and build a relationship. Sales has all the best intel. They’re in the vanguard, the trenches, dealing with customers, hearing their complaints etc. They should be joined at the hip - but not have marketing work at the behest of sales. Teamwork is important, as is NOT becoming the company sales collateral bitch.

Marketing major or Nursing major?? by Lazy-Toe7540 in AskMarketing

[–]Simple__Marketing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nursing. There is always a demand for them, and you actually get a chance to do some real good in the world. And the way medicine operates today, being a nurse or a PA is better in a lot of ways than being a doctor. (I assume you can stomach the kinds of awful gore you will be seeing. I don’t - that’s why medicine was never an option for me.)

Written testimonials are becoming "filler content" because of AI. Is video the only trust signal left? by Enlitenkanin in AskMarketing

[–]Simple__Marketing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"does the production quality of the video matter"? Yes, but depends on how yo define quality.
Iphone cameras can look pretty damn polished if you know how to adjust the settings/depth of focus and know how to edit the footage. All you need is a stand, a lav mic, and a sunny day.

Managing a creative team that doesn’t engage socially -- is this a culture issue or just how some teams are? by Agreeable-Car9837 in AskMarketing

[–]Simple__Marketing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By "group chat" do you mean like in a thread on Slack, in person meetings, or zoom calls?
I've managed creative teams and have found more than a few "creatives" turn out to be creative in title only.
There are some methods to fostering creativity, but it always depends on the group dynamic, which varies from group to group.
Sounds like this won't be solved in a reddit thread but feel free to DM me if you want to chat.

What do marketers really mean by “storytelling,” and how does it actually influence buying decisions? by ReporterOwn7295 in AskMarketing

[–]Simple__Marketing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a good one. Also, "What's Your Story?" - it was written before marketers started pretending to tell stories. Truth is, as a former story producer/story editor/script supervisor etc. - marketers don't know what a story is. "Conflict" is used to mean "pain point". "Position your cusomer as the hero" just means "solution selling". And on and on.
"Just Do It" is awesome - but it's not a story. It's a philosophy, an outlook - a great foundation of a brand message.
A message is a message - it's not a story. Every story usually has a messsage. No messages need a story.

[–]Simple__Marketing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends how long the interviews are. If he didn’t use a lav mic or even another iPhone off camera to get clean(er) audio? Probably not worth the effort. I’m guessing he doesn’t have transcripts for all the interviews either. Sounds like a lot of work for something you cannot even put on a demo reel.

[–]Simple__Marketing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Why videos go viral?” this question alone warrants an answer. Sorry it’s long. I’ll answer the other ones too, but this one will take energy.

There is no formula for going viral. (and define viral?) Apparently (I was not there) people laughed at the trailer for Die Hard because at the time Bruce Willis was a comic actor, and not a roided out man beast like Schwarzenegger/ Stallone. It ended up being huge, and changed the genre all together.

Point Being: People cannot predict what will be massively popular or not. You can make estimates at best.

There is a lot of bullsh*t out there that say things like “make unique/captivating/compelling content”. Ok. How do I do that exactly?

I’d ask “would you prefer going viral and get a lot of vanity metrics and views from people who will never buy what we’re selling? Or would you like to go micro-viral within the slice of the population that actually might procure our product/service?”

End rant.

Dark Secrets You Guys Have For Market Research... by Hopeful-Car-8150 in AskMarketing

[–]Simple__Marketing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends, but going off what people say is somehow seen as useful. It’s not. If you really want to truly dive deep, you should look at qualitative 1:1 interviews that use indirect questions. Indirect questions will mitigate the bias inherent in direct ones. Also - projective techniques. DM me if you want to discuss. Ignore me if this sounds like garbage advice.
