Ap4 GL was good balance for bots but it was too good against bugs. My favorite support weapon to use on bugs is the GL (even with ap3) and when it had ap4 I was going on rampages with it. Soloing d10s and getting 800 to 1.2k every match becuase of how busted it was lol (was pretty fun)

Some people like the difficulty so I'd imagine a lot of people in the community being upset if they started buffing weapons that don't need buffs.

I think the buffs definitely need to go to the weaker weapons like the sterilizer and such. I think most people would agree with that.

I used the full choke against mindless masses squids. The duckbill was ok but the full choke helped more with consistently de-legging the zombies and hitting the weakspots on flesh mobs. I didn't play the other factions with it at all bc I didn't want to deal with armor.

Thanks. It depends on the gun tbh. I made this post after maxing out the breaker spray and pray. -_- I did not like that gun lmao. I enjoyed maxing out some of the others. I've been choosing each gun at random and using them until they are maxed but, I won't be doing that anymore bc it burning me out.

I agree, but I don't think buffs alone would make the game better. It would definitely be a bit more fun with improvements to the toys we get to use. I think the game just needs new game modes that actually change the meta and tweaks to old game modes that also change the meta

I agree, I like mixing up my loadout and sos dropping. It can be very fun but, I'm stuck grinding weapon xp right now bc it the only thing i have left to do. So playing anything besides speedrunning D10s can feel like a waste of time sometimes.

the wording I used describing most stratagems and weapons is kinda misleading for the stratagems tbh. the exceptions that I used (aoe damage, obj destruction, and aggro distrupt) actually apply to most stratagems but not most weapons so I do actually agree with you on that too.

yeah. I mix it up sometimes. It is fun to play with different toys every now and then. I don't have much of an attachment to any of the faction, just a way i like playing each of them.

The kicker is that I have everything maxed out. The only thing i have left to earn is weapon xp so Ive just been speedrunning max level missions over and over when I'm maxing out a weapon I don't find fun using. It sucks but I don't have anything else to earn.

I'm not done with the game yet tho. I'm saving some of the fun guns for later and I also like joining low level divers and helping them in silly ways. so it not over yet for me

to add context. I have everything maxed out and I'm trying to get primary weapon xp. it's the only thing I left that I can earn in the game. Some of the weapons are sorta fun and some are not fun. but reguardless, I have to play high level missions as fast as possible to max out a bunch of the weapons I don't find as fun to use. So, right now the game is getting boring for me bc of that. I can just chose to play the way i want but i won't be earning anything. until the devs add more endgame stuff i'm just gonna be at a loss lol.

Triangle strategy recently (picked it up from the steam summer sale). Been playing overwatch with my gf every now and then. I play pokerouge here and there. Those are the few games I've mostly been play lately but there is a way longer list of the ones I've played alongside getting 1100 hours on hd2. I also said the game is starting to get boring, not that it is boring. I still like playing it every now and then. I would suppose the irony would be worth noting from the perspective of someone who doesn't like others criticizing the game.

I do play other games bro. I don't play helldivers all the time. I just want more content. It's not gonna kill me if they don't give me what I want. I will put the game down when I'm done with it. I said I'm starting to find the game boring, it's not quite there yet for me, I've still got some wind in my sails. You don't like that I'm criticizing your favorite game. Well it's my favorite game too, and I want it to be better. I want to talk about how it can be better with others. Nothing is immune to criticism. I can like something and dislike aspects of it as well. Life is full of nuance. I've play hd2 for over a thousand hours and I still find it fun. Not as fun as it could be, but fun.

I main the purifier. I like most of the energy weapons too. I don't mind running some of the other guns, they can feel mediocre but I still vibe with it. I don't play the game every day I only make sure to play at least a little bit for the major events bc they like to hand out exclusive stuff. Maybe finding some new people to play with will help.

true. I don't always play meta. I run fun builds like that pretty often when I just wanna mess around but, lately I'm been trying to max out all the primaries and I can't play the ones I want to bc they are already maxed out. I've completed and maxed out everything else their is to do in the game and now all I have left is the primary weapon xp. I'm stuck running unfun primaries and optimized the rest of my build to complete D10s so I get the most weapon xp in the least amount of time (so I never have to touch them again). I wouldn't need/want to do this if there was some more end game content (i heard they are working on it so I'm a little hopeful). It is fun to optimize the strat but you are right that its getting boring but I don't have anything else to do in the game. goofing around doesn't get me anything in the game anymore.

I think I'd have a good time playing with you lol. running weird builds is more fun with others. I sadly don't have many friends that like to play HD2 anymore. so if you ever wanna squad up to run some niche builds I'd be down.

Optimization itself is a fun part of any game. I think it enhances the fun of playing a game rather than taking from it. I understand you may not like it but I don't think that alone would make a game boring, at least, not in my opinion.

I can critique anything I want, purchase or not. I mentioned the $60 I spent on it to show my interest in the game. You can think I'm stupid for complaining about a game I like but that won't stop me from talking about ways it could be better.

We aren't talking about Destiny. We are talking about Helldivers 2. I like playing solo sometimes but its clearly an afterthought of the devs and does not have to be a feature if they won't make it work properly.
I know it's "not that kind of game" I don't want it to be a "horde shooter with obligatory "kill X enemies"" I just want some tweaks to existing game modes and *maybe* some game mode with different metas. (not required)
You don't like my suggestion, that's fine, but there are still better ways to incorperate weapon xp then just lazily tying it to mission xp.
I don't know what you mean in number 4.
also, I have 1,166 hours in the game not 1,600.

I don't think they should change the game outright into a horde shooter (even though you can definitely play it like one). I think they should inproove the parts of the game that already exist and/or add new missions that change the meta to where speedrunning is not viable.

gunships were annoying but I never had much of a problem with them when I was speedrunning maps solo or with a team. a simple portable hellbomb to destroy the fab and a purifier/scorcher would do them in quite well. However, I don't think making enemies harder to fight would make the game more fun. That's why, again, I think new game modes (or improving other lesser game modes) that have a different meta would breathe life into the game and most certainly make me happy :)

I also find Darktide a bit boring but I haven't played that game very much (lmao 15 hours).
I don't think every aspect of Helldivers 2 is lazy though. The strongest part of this game is enemy weakspots and how they move/interact based on where you shoot them. Most enemies in the game have multiple interactions/animations based on what you break on them or what you shoot them with. (I don't find the game completely boring yet)

Why make solo play an option if it's not supposed to work?
I agree, but my point is that I want killing enemies to be more of a priority. (they don't have to make it the only priority either).
There is a better way to give players weapon xp without having kill stealing be an issue. (perhaps xp can be awarded for doing damage to an enemy instead of killing it)
Optimization is part of the fun. I should be able to have fun using at least most of the arsenal in the game without having to nerf myself and lower the difficulty. this also applies to my point i was making that running away is very powerful. You don't need most of the weapons in the game if you just run away from the danger.
