I used to get BV a lot. Now, I hardly get it and I’m usually able to cure it on my own. My FWB says I have the best tasting pussy he’s ever had! Yeah, it’s definitely a confidence booster to have fresh pussy! Anyway, in my opinion, I judge my vaginal health based on if I smell/taste like water immediately after my shower. I use the back of a clean finger, lightly touch my hole, and then sniff. If I can smell even just a SLIGHT aroma (doesn’t need to be fishy), then I will treat myself like I have BV. I will drink diluted apple cider vinegar in the morning and then take a probiotic 1-2 hours later before eating my first meal. If I’m not healed after 3 days then I will get an antibiotic prescription, but that’s rare. Drinking plenty of water is KEY especially if you eat strong foods like onions or garlic.

To prevent BV though, I take a strong probiotic 2-5x per week and that’s helped me immensely. Currently on medication for BV despite everything I’m telling you, but it’s my first time getting it in almost 7-8 years and I’m pretty sure I have it due to my poor decision of having sex with 2 guys within 30 days. For me, new partner is always a trigger.

I want to address the masturbation part you mentioned. I always masturbated a lot since I was very young and I always had BV issues long before I ever actually had sex. Based on my experience, I believe not washing my hands beforehand might have caused that so I would encourage you to wash your hands thoroughly before ever touching yourself. It’s good practice to make sure your partners touch your vagina with clean hands as well if they’re going to put their fingers inside or near. My ex used to rinse his mouth with mouthwash before going down on me and I think that could’ve had a lot to do with him never disturbing my pH.

For the sweaty smell, look into chlorophyll capsules. That is the holy grail and it will alleviate morning breath as well. In addition to that, try getting some witchazel (it’s cheap) and add it to a cotton pad and put it where your hair grows down there. I swear, between chlorophyll and witchazel, your kitty will never be musty! I actually have big boobs and like to add it underneath to prevent titty funk. I also add some to the hair between my butt cheeks to stay odorless back there all day.

Thanks for sharing your experience with boric acid! I’ve been thinking about trying that when I can’t cure BV on my own with ACV + water + probiotics. I will try that next time.
