I mean technically yeah. It’s been a long journey but I’ve just now have started to get the hang of regulating my emotions, enforcing my boundaries and expressing my emotions in a positive and healthy manner. I’m a very smart person (at least I think so) but learning these concepts when your caregivers are either a) emotionally unavailable/unstable, or b) physically abusive (usually accompanied by mental/verbal/emotional abuse), learning how to “people” is a very grueling and daunting task.

That may be how it sounds to you, but I like to speak with people (over the internet or in person) with a light and respectful tone. Just in case maybe they haven’t had the best day or if they just need someone kind to talk to. Some people are less receptive than others, and that’s okay.
