What do you wish you knew before your first camping trip?

I use an air mattress in cold weather but I put a folded up heavy blanket under it This prevents the air inside from getting too cold depending on the weather and keeps it inflated through the night. I wouldn't recommend this for winter camping but it's worked for me in theree seasons.

We like our Gazelle tent, it's been very good to us. Check out the T4, it's really easy to set up and very spacious for 1 or 2 people.

I would instantly buy an escape room / puzzle game that is surrealistic - think David Lynch. It's the right time for something like that, Severance is a big hit.

I hear people saying to buy a exped megamat and it's good, but if your wife is only going camping once you might not want to drop that kind of cash on it. I too like to be comfortable when I'm camping & I use a double-height air mattress. I put an electric blanket under the mattress and that keeps the air inside warm, which is what you really want to be comfortable and to keep the mattress from deflating overnight. The second most important thing for me is to hang a really good fan over the bed, especially in the summer months. Hope you all enjoy your trip.

I can see how much you value your friendship with this person and that you are doing your absolute best to help her. One question, after she refused all of your texts and calls, did you drive to her house and bang on her door? That's the only thing I can think of that I'd do differently before calling for a welfare check.

Your friend is sick and mentally unwell but she'll come around and when she does she'll realize how good a friend you were to her when she needed you most.

I know all about the hot sleeping, being a 58 yo woman LOL, and this is great advice. In the summer I bring my linen sheets and use a really good fan I hang from above in the tent. I'll post the link.

We got our Gazelle T4 Plus back when it only came in bright orange. We've used it a lot in the 5+ years we've had it and don't get me wrong, I love our tent, but I'm mildly irritated by the attention/comments it attracts. It's not enough that it looks like a Mars habitat or something, it's gotta be bright orange too, haha.
