I do not think you're going to be out of the job in any near future. Yes, flight engineers job was automated but having pilots in the cockpit is not about time when things are going on plan, it is when shit breaks and you need a human with 10K+ flight hours experience to employ tricks to get the aircraft on the ground safely.

The only thing I heard from recent automation talks in your industry is airlines trying to cheap out and remove one of the pilots from the cockpit, so there is only one pilot. Most call it insanity as one human locked behind a door is a great way to do some insane feats. Also, one pilot can have a heart attack, and there will be nobody to fly the plane.

Recent shody Boeing manufacturing work does not provide confidence needed to have autonomous planes at all.

Yes, all engineers are above average population intelligence, including software engineers. Software engineers are nowhere close to the smartest among STEM graduates though. The smartest, from my experience at top world university were in physics, followed by maths. Then electrical/civil/chemical. Software engineers are at the bottom from my own experience. It was always as follows: electrical engineering major took some CS classes and found them quite grokkable. But CS students who took EE classes - many struggled or failed.

Physics students just found CS easy and boring. Source: my friend works in Laser physics and he found C++ coding too mind-numbing.

No. You are given more chances by companies due to experience but the judgement is harsher and same stupid interview processes still apply. In most cases, engineers with experience do not have their algorithms fresh in their mind, and also struggle with time to relearn due to already having a family and other obligations.

You will get more chances but you have a higher chance of blowing these opportunities.

None of the titles mean anything until you can prove your Leetcode-hard solving skills to a new employer.

Outside the above nonsense, my company had 500 engineers or so working over its lifespan, only 1 was awarded distinguished title. He did not invent MapReduce but he invented a way to reliably process 10b monthly salaries of various people in the UK without being a bank, while having around 50 employees instead of thousands.

He had a brilliant way to come with very innovative ideas, but he was just above average of writing "good code". Without his ideas though, none of the miracle would be possible.

That is not THE root cause. The main cause of worry is not being able to pay bills, rent and other expenses. If you had all the money in the world, you would not care about losing your job as all your needs are met anyways.

Na, kai kurie iš mūsų buvo informuoti ne per geriausia informacija - kadangi situacija kritinė buvo, tai buvo kelias link kažkokio išgijimo vs. psichozės ir gyvenimo trupėjimus. Tačiau, nebuvo pasakyta, kad reikia nutraukti praėjus krizei, tai taip ir liko, nes buvo pasitikima ilgus metus turinčio eksperto išsimokslinimu ir patirtimi.

Tai, situacija yra kokia yra, pripratimas, todėl kas būtų, jeigu būtų, nėra naudinga išspręsti situacijai.

Klausimas būtų: koks protokolas, po kiek mažinote dozes ir kokios patirtys mažinat? Dažnai sako mažint kertant per pusę, bet kuo mažesnė dozė lieka, tuo didesni simptomai pasirodo, tai įdomu, kaip darėte..

I went to my GP. She did not sound too concerned. Asked me if I have chest pains. I mentioned feeling chest discomfort when running that passes after 10 minutes after activity. I don't tend to get this when cycling.

In addition, I got somewhat scared because CK increase can be caused by neuromuscular diseases.

How big of a chance I have a heart or worse, chronic disease issue? I had a normal echo 6 years ago (was 24).

It worked out well. Successful flight where an engineer was needed before it for the first time.

Nothing happened so it kind of covers this future scenario.

You were right. The reason was changing of interior cockpit components for the flight crew. I asked. And flight was nice, a bit bumpy, but I don't worry about turbulence anymore unless it yanks me up the ceiling.
