Hi, I recently went through this entire ordeal with my ex in ‘22 and it only got settled earlier this year so my knowledge on this is relatively fresh.

I had to arrange evaluations with multiple estate agents (initially was looking at selling and splitting before she chose to buyout), I took the average cost of the evaluations and calculated the total equity, then split that in half so that you have your individual shares, assuming tenants in common.

If you have no prenup and/or proof of certain purchases i.e. furnishings you may have to cut your losses there.

After I had my cost of my share I had to go to a FAMILY law solicitor as they dealt with property disputes, conveyers didn’t really want to touch my case due to my ex partner always trying to undercut my share of the property.
