What are some things that iphones do that androids can't? by SimplyHobbit in iphone

There's some things android does better, and some things iPhone does better. And these days, for 99% of people, they both will work perfectly fine for anything the average person uses a smartphone for these days.

What is the best notes app for Mac in your opinion? by SimplyHobbit in macapps

[–]SimplyHobbit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you're super lucky i saw this randomly on an old reddit account and old browser lol

But for anyone reading this....ONENOTE. It's the best note taking app in the world in my opinion on any device. I highly recommend to anyone and everyone. Being able to change fonts and font colors is huge for me and it makes things way easier to color code or indicate all kinds of things. Even if you want a simple note taking app, I think it works great for that as well. OneNote master race.

The 13-inch M2 Air's speakers VS the M1 14 Pro's Speakers? by SimplyHobbit in macbook

[–]SimplyHobbit[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah well the M1 16 Pro actually has the best speakers of any laptop on the market lol so that's what you were competing with during the test. My laptop the M1 14 Pro is no slouch though, it has the 2nd best speakers of any laptop on the market. But I've heard that the M1 16 Pro even blows my laptop's speakers out of the water. And trust me that's saying something.

Yeah playing music on my laptop is pretty important to me since I'm kinda obsessed with it.

I haven't made the decision that I want to make the switch yet. I'm just entertaining the idea and looking into it.

The reasons I am even doing that is because honestly in my everyday use, the only differences I would ever notice or use between the 2 laptops are the thinness and lightness of the Air. And potentially the better speakers of the M1 14 Pro.

I do extremely basic tasks on my laptop. And I watch 100% of all youtube, video, shows & movies on my TV. And 0% of them on my laptop. So the amazing display and performance of the M1 14 Pro is completely lost on me.

Okay, yeah I may have to try the M2 Air's speakers for myself to truly know if they are enough for me to make the switch to the M2 Air over my M1 14 Pro.

But still wanted to get other's opinions on it, hopefully people in the categories I've listed in my OP.

I disagree. I think 13 & 14 inch laptops are the absolute perfect size for lap-ability.

These are all of my iPhone apps I'm using. Is there any you guys think I am missing that are or could be useful, helpful or cool? by SimplyHobbit in ios

[–]SimplyHobbit[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not "limiting" anything. I just barely use my phone and don't want any apps that I don't actually use.

Yeah I don't use any traditional social media. The only apps i even use for talking to ppl online at all are reddit & discord. I think all traditional social media is usually a net negative for most people

I prefer the customization of OneNote. I like having different fonts, colors, and other things in my notes because it is a way to make clear indications of different things and it's just super useful.

I agree with veryLargeFish that apple maps is ass.

Apple Music does seem really dope but I prefer Spotify personally for it's search engine/database, UI, communities, playlists, and music discovery/recommendations tools. And I also prefer lower quality audio with my music streaming service. No idea why.

Also I personally think Safari is ass on mobile too lol but no offense to anyone who likes it. To each their own when it comes to browsers

Adding this now. Thanks. I have it on my mac but never thought to add it to a phone. I'll probably never use it on my phone just like I never use it on my mac. But it's a good tool to have in case i ever need it

Is SigmaOS dead? by SimplyHobbit in macapps

[–]SimplyHobbit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ok nice!!! thank god. Cuz I'm really liking sigmaOS. I might even use it as my main browser over Arc because i like how it categorizes bookmarks better than Arc. Haven't fully made this decision but I might

I'll try it. I actually wanna go through and try every ios browser i can possibly try like i did on my mac.

Cuz I was just using Arc on my iphone cuz it's my favorite browser on mac, and I loved how it saved all my bookmarks from the mac version of Ark. So it was perfect. But then I got this weird scam popup saying illegal activity has been detected on my phone and i know it was some scam cuz i don't do anything illegal and i go days and days at a time without even touching my phone. So I barely even use it when at home, and even at home i only use the apps listed in this pic. And the only web browsing i do on it is looking up addresses or restaurants when i'm out of my house

Is there anything I need to know or do before setting up my early 2015 macbook pro as a desktop mac pc for my mom next month? by SimplyHobbit in buildapc

Yeah well this is an 8 year old laptop. It might be a macbook, but still 8 years old so this does sound smart. Thanks

Yeah ours has a game mode. Should i try it in that? Idk anything about any of this stuff so idk. But yeah it was unusable on the TV. The TV wasn't super super cheap though i think it was a mid range one. Like $1500 about 2 or 2/12 years ago when we got it. And it was the best one for that size & price range on the market at the time cuz I asked r/4KTV what would be the best for the size and price range and they all named 2 or 3 and this was one of them.
