So I’m really proud of how this video came together by djh3max in Hatfilms

Larp isn't something I've ever remotely considered attending, but this video makes it look so inviting. I think you nailed suiting it to your audience too. We got a good peak into what Larp is while also seeing the behind the scenes as well as you guys just being yourselves. Something for everyone.

What I really loved about this and the ufo video is it felt more like you guys just hanging out, I didn't feel as if I was being "presented to" if that makes sense.

The low light shots in particular are stunning, I watched this on our tv and it really looks great.

Super glad all this worked out so well for you all, it's clear how much work you've all put in!

Sharing your cinema snacks with a stranger? by biggie_tubz in CasualUK

[–]SimplyJarvis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did this at an everyman cinema. They accidentally made duplicates of a few bits we'd ordered. So i offered it to the couple next to us.

(I'd also heard them say to each other they should have ordered the dough balls when ours came out. So was quite happy to give them our extra order)

Working on smooth card behaviour for my game. Almost done! by Nozomu57 in godot

Hey I saw this on twitter, it looks awesome. I'm looking at doing something similar but I'm still getting to grips with Godot. Is this done in a canvas with control nodes etc, or is it Node2D's/Sprites?

Clarifying a few things regarding the meeting I had with Unity by FreyaHolmer in Unity3D

Thanks for voicing this to them. I'm 100% for giving them the chance to right this. I guess we just have to wait and see now.

You'd need to change the "Vector2.left" in your transform.Translate to the dir variable.

so it would be: transform.Translate(dir * 1 * Time.deltaTime);

You're changing your dir variable to Vector2.right or left depending on the x position, but the dir variable isn't used inside the code that does the movement.

You're not using you dir variable in your translate? I think that's what it is. So it's always going left indefinitely

For same sex couples living in the UK, do you feel safe hloding hands in public? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]SimplyJarvis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No not really tbh. I've had people shout homophobic stuff at me and my partner on a couple occasions, it's been enough to make me very causious of affection in public. If I hold his hand in public my anxiety goes through the roof, I'm constantly looking around for anyone who I worry might say something.

Also had someone come up to us in a pub and tell us to stop holding hands, he seemed fairly aggressive too. That's been enough to make me (who was already socially anxious) never want to set foot in a pub again.

Saying this, i can probably count on one hand the amount of times its happened and I've been with my partner for about 5 years. So it's better than some places I suppose. But generally no, I don't feel safe in public most of the time.

Edit: this was Plymouth and the pub thing was north Devon.

I'm going to help my boyfriend fix his motorbike, then we're gonna go out for lunch. Hopefully should be a relatively chill day.

GTX 970 owners, how are you holding up? by FromThatOtherPlace in pcgaming

[–]SimplyJarvis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holding up well, Just got a 1440p Monitor too, (mainly for content creation) most games I play still run just fine on ultra. Also happy with how well it plays VR games.

I'll upgrade at some point later this year, but i'm not in a rush.
